Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, "Entreat the LORD that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to the LORD." Exodus 8:8 NKJV
When Moses arrived in Egypt, God sent ten plagues with him. The king thought he could outlast each divine blow. Hail, flies, locusts, and seven more plagues rolled into Egypt and left a massive path of destruction. God hadn’t rescued His family from famine just to leave them slaves. God intended to deliver His family, and no one could long endure the consequences of telling Him no.
God can endure more than you can. He witnesses disobedience every minute of every day. He’s patient and kind, and His mercy leads to changed minds, hearts, and decisions. He can outlast your stubbornness, win against your selfishness, and teach beyond your resistance.
God is making you a new creature. When He starts something, He is faithful to finish it. Resist your own stubbornness and spend more time with the Instructor. Follow willingly and discover friendship with the Father.
You may have endured what it took to get an education, succeeded in learning your job, and learned to drive. What God can teach you has a much greater importance for every today you will ever live.
Prayer: Lord, I want to learn from You. I want to be a willing student. I want You to outlast my stubborn tendencies and change me.
