I think someone posted a similar question but ill ask this anyway. So what do you think the point of life is? Iv heard that we are supposed to worship God but to be honest that seems a bit selfish of God if he only made us so he could be worshiped. My personal opinion is that it is to experience. Any thoughts?

To experience what? Life? God IS life, therefore the point of Life, IS life.

Psa 102:18 Let this be recorded for a generation to come, so that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD:
Psa 102:19 that he looked down from his holy height; from heaven the LORD looked at the earth,
Psa 102:20 to hear the groans of the prisoners, to set free those who were doomed to die,
Psa 102:21 that they may declare in Zion the name of the LORD, and in Jerusalem his praise,
Psa 102:22 when peoples gather together, and kingdoms, to worship the LORD.

Joh 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." Thats reason enough for Praising God. It is most selfish of humanity not to praise Him.

Psa 148:1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights!
Psa 148:2 Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts!
Psa 148:3 Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars!
Psa 148:4 Praise him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
Psa 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded and they were created.
Psa 148:6 And he established them forever and ever; he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.
Psa 148:7 Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps,
Psa 148:8 fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!
Psa 148:9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
Psa 148:10 Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!
Psa 148:11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, princes and all rulers of the earth!
Psa 148:12 Young men and maidens together, old men and children!
Psa 148:13 Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven.
Psa 148:14 He has raised up a horn for his people, praise for all his saints, for the people of Israel who are near to him. Praise the LORD!

Praise the LORD!

God selfish? Not really. God is Love and Love is not really content until it is in a caring, intimate relationship. So while we were created for His pleasure (who else if He did not make us?) we are also made to enjoy the presence of God. He loves we worship, He cares, He leads we follow and obey. It is a joy to our heart to seek and serve Him. Selfish? No. Love? Yes.

We Christians believe that God is complete within Himself, that He has no external needs. But, we also believe that God is the source of love, that love is His nature (see 1 Jn 4:8). Love is not real unless it is shared, God to us and us to others and to God. So the point of life, in my view, is to be blessed by participating in the flow of His love.
