Pray that God gives me holiness of heart. Pray that I am holy like Jesus. Pray that I am pure at heart so I shall see God Matthew 5:8. Pray that I regain the image of God which was lost to sin. Make me holy God so I can see you. Pray that God remove the root desire and propensity to sin from my life. Make me holy, o Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen. Thanks dear Jesus.

Do you believe this scripture?
"And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Gal 5:24)
If your "flesh with the affections and lusts" have been killed, the root desire you write of is also dead.
The devil uses past memories in his attempts to lure us back into sin, even after we were killed with Christ, (during our immersion-baptism into Christ and into His death)
They really have no power over those in subjection to God.
It is written..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)
Look for the escapes that God provides.
