Dear brothers & Sisters,
I really need your prayers. I'm easily offended & when I become angry it's difficult for me to forget what happened, most of the time I stay angry for the whole day or maybe for two days. I need scriptures on anger + your prayers.
Thanks & God bless.

James 1:19 tells us to be "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." I could only ask God's help in doing this; I was powerless to do it myself and it took a long time for the change to begin to manifest. I still struggle with this issue sometimes. But I am comforted by the knowledge that He has forgiven me and accepted me as the broken vessel that I am.

Greetings @Odia Alberta M

As brother Spirit Led Ed said we need to lean on the Lord and His almighty power to deal with these anger issues.

The Lord is good and He will help us if we turn to Him

My flesh often wants to retaliate in angry harsh ways.....when the flesh starts kicking in I say in silent prayer 'Lord please guard my tongue and may I always only say words that glorify You' and praise the Lord He stops my unruly anger from erupting.

Trust Him Odia and commit your anger to Him to deal with.....He will.

Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Ephesians 3:20-21

Sometimes anger is a good thing. In Ephesians 4:26, Paul writes and is quoting from Psalms 4:4, that we can be angry, but cautions us not to sin. Righteous indignation hates injustice, immorality, ungodliness, and every other sin. Jesus Himself displayed this type of anger when He overturned the money changer's tables in the temple. (Matt. 21:12;Mark3:5;John 2:15). But even righteous indignation should be put aside if it is held onto and causes us to be bitter. Read Romans 12:17-21, to understand our instruction on how to deal with our enemies.
Sometimes our anger is actually a manifestation of fear in our life. It is imaginary fear. We are afraid we will lose something we have, or we are afraid we won't get what we want. This was my case. Its actually idolatry because I was putting my happiness and my security into people, places, or things.
A good thing to do is examine what is causing your anger. Is it righteous indignation or is it imaginary fears rearing it's ugly head? I will keep you in prayer.

Eph 4:26-27

26BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27and do not give the devil an opportunity.

If the anger ruins your joy for more than a few hours, its hurting your own spirit. Indeed, do not let the sun go down on your anger. I use the following verse for
most situations that are hard for me.

Prov 3:5-6
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

Do no lean on your own understanding of the righteousness of your anger, make sure its in line with what God wants from you.

Many of us deal with some form of anger; possibly yours is more or less than others.
Your concern is a sign that you have a regenerated heart of a Christian and that God is already working in you: Romans 8:26
There is no magic pills or solutions. The most important thing is that you realize you have a problem and desire a change.
I find that the Holy Spirit doesn't do it for us, he does it through us, it is primarily your responsibility.
I also find that when I ask God for change, he often gives me opportunities to change.
Oddly enough you should look at opportunties to get angry as a blessing and a chance to react with a more positive attitude. Start small and grow; pretty soon, you may find that God gives you less and less opportunities, because he doesn't need to!

Thanks for the encouragement & Bible verses. I believe we all have our weaknesses & need each other's prayer
Gal6:1-5
