Prayer for delivery from addiction

Please know that I’m standing with you in prayer for Martin, asking the Lord to draw him closer to Himself and deliver him from his addictions. Be assured that He is even more concerned and is able to work mightily in the lives of our loved ones in answer to earnest prayer. May your confidence and trust rest in Him as you look to Him in faith. Peace to you, friend.

'That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man,
which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created
in righteousness and true holiness.'
(Eph 4:22-24)
Dear God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, in Whom we trust. Thank you for the power that you have towards all that believe:
and in the light of that power, we pray for Martin, and all like him, who are beset by the fleshly, deceitful lusts, which war against their whole person,
and bring them down into despair.
Please open His eyes to Yourself, that he may know the power that you have towards him, in Christ Jesus,
that He may be enabled to lay hold by faith, on the power that is available to Him, in Christ Jesus, and live in newness of life,
as one who has been raised from the dead, in Christ Jesus his risen Lord.
I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Who died to make him whole.
may he lay hold on Christ, and put on the new man, by faith,
created by You Father in righteousness and true holiness.
Which is in Christ, our risen Lord, and we in Him.
