Prayer needed to get my life back on track

Hello everyone. This is my first day on this forum. I recently, with tears in my eyes, asked God for his forgiveness because I've strayed away from him. I lost my brother recently to suicide and my life became a mess. I have asked God to get me back on track in life. I caved into lust with the wrong women, have neglected my friends who care for me, and most importantly I have neglected my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe God has led me here. Please pray that I may overcome my demons and get back on track with my life. I love God and am so thankful that he is a forgiving God because I desperately need to strengthen my relationship with him and make him the center of my life.

Thank you to everyone. I'll take all the prayers that I can get.

Hi, I congratulate you because you've just made the right step towards getting back. Ill pray for you, may you continue to seek your way back.

You're Being Prayed For

Hi Grateful22,

You will be in my prayers and I know that God will help you over come and bring you through all that hurt, and pain that you are feeling right now. We have all made mistakes and have fallen, but going to God was the best thing you could do and i'm so happy for you that you are letting Him bring you through and draw you closer to Him once again. You are not alone and we here your sisters and brothers, and friends in the Lord are praying for you and lifting you up to God. If you ever need you can feel free to p.m me if you need to vent or have questions and i'll do my best through our Lord Jesus to help you.

God bless you now and always
AA

Welcome to TJ Grateful22,
I pray that this site will be a blessing and a guiding light in your time of trial. The enemy will take every opportunity to have you turn away from the truth that you know through Christ Jesus. Keep in mind that all that you can do, you don’t do alone. It’s with Christ in your life, that you are able to do all things. Phil 4:13

As you’ve come to realize, that we need to have Him in our lives at all times, and not only when things are going bad. I don’t think there’s a believer out there who hasn’t been down and out, and some similar to your situation as well. Yet with all of us who believe, it didn’t take long to realize that He will never forsake us. He guides us to that realization through the Holy Spirit. Meaning, no matter what happens in our lives, how much we try to run in the opposite direction, when we were called by Him in the first place and answered, we became sealed with the Holy Spirit, which is a seal that cannot be broken by the enemy. Grab the word of God; pray; fellowship with other believers even if the only ones you can find are here at TJ. Whatever it takes through Christ Jesus, you do brother, and know that you have brothers & sisters praying for and with you. You are not alone and never will be. Take comfort in that truth!

Thank you so much everyone and God bless you all Its great to read all the positive words. I've struggled the past few days...it feels like I am constantly having to battle my old demons. This journey back to cleaning up my life will be a difficult one and anything encouraging is sincerely appreciated. I'll will continue to work on myself each day and I know that God will see me through this.

God does not measure the qauntity of our non-Christian actions and then he decides it's impossible to forgive us because our non-Christians actions out-weigh our Christian actions. It is the quality of our Christian actions, even if it's only a couple during our lives on Earth, that keeps God in our lives because he knows Satan is the Deceiver who has been released on Earth to do his dirty work. Accepting Jesus as our Lord Healer and Savior can do wonders in our lives, and we become Learners and Leaders of Christ instead of Losers and Weepers of Satan. Sometimes I wonder how God's punishment for Adam and Eve had stretched out so far to punish all family generations in the past, present and future - while the spiritual disease of Satan called sin has caused so much confusion, violence, poverty and pollution.

I pray that the supernatural peace and patience be with you along with every other believer so that the coming of Jesus, hopefully very soon in the future, will transform us into new glorious minds and bodies of Christ once Satan is defeated and sin is deleted. So that the fullness of Christ's supernatural joy will keep our hearts so very positive and our faces always keeping on smiling, as we socialize together in peace and harmony in the most modern and most massive place of community: the Kingdom Of God on a new oceanless planet Earth, where human suffering will become non-existent: such as homelessness, loneliness, old age forgettable senior citizens, drug-trafficking, crime of all sorts from shoplifting to homicide, starvation, war and pollution.:*:.

One of the main problems I've had over the past couple of days is exhaustion. I feel like i've been using all of my energy to fight off everything negative that was in my life to the point that when I get home from my work I just want to sleep until it's time to work again so that I'm not tempted by anything that will displease God. Hopefully this is just a phase and bad habits begin to fade away.

Just keep calling out to Jesus when you are feeling low and defeated.
Jesus will not condemn you......He just wants to bless you

Remember satan, who will try to convince you you are a failure, has no business in your life.....you are a child of the King.

If you are feeling weary get immersed in the word of God,
Pray
Wait on the Lord and let Him do His perfect work in you

Bless you brother

They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Dear brother. This may very well be true. However, it's not just waiting for the bad habits to fade. You have to change and start filling them those times with good habits. Everything from, reading His Word, praying, talking with others as you grow in His word about the One who saved you. You have abilities that God has given you, even if they have been dormant or unused until now. Put them to use. Incorporate the things you like to do, working out, technology, etc. with growing in His Word. You’ll be surprised how much of the Word of God really does apply to each and every situation that one can go through, and can touch the areas that we do have abilities in as well. These will be the areas that God will begin using you in and will make you stronger as well. The day will come that those “bad habits” that you talk about now, will be only examples that you use to show others, how Christ has changed you, and helped you to be the person you will be through Christ Jesus. Fragrant Grace has given you good scripture verses to pray and reflect upon. See how they fit into your life. Then you’ll start to change, and begin to put new good habits in place. The interesting part is that once you start on this path of growth, you’ll be surprised that you’ve changed at all, because it will take someone else to bring it to your attention! To you it won’t seem like you’ve changed, but you will have! We're the last ones to see the change in ourselves.

Remember you have brothers & sisters here at TJ who are praying for you as well.

Thank you for the excellent verses and the kind words...you are right. The devil will stop at nothing to keep me haunted with my loss and wrong doings. I need to trust in God and make sure to motivate myself to push forward.

God bless you my friend.

C4E, I have read this probably 10 different times now...thats how much it has helped. I've decided to write out some lists of positive things to keep me busy each day and occupy my time. God is great, and more I keep my eyes focused on him the better each day will be! God sent me to right place when he sent me to this forum. Being able to sign on and talk with you all has been helping me tremendously. This is the first time in a long time that I feel like I can overcome my demons.

I ask you all to pray for me to stay on the right track. As I'm sure you all know, it's so easy to lose focus and derail progress. God bless you all

God is Good all the time brother! I and I'm sure others here will continue to pray for you.

2 Corinthians 1:7
And our hope of you [is] stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so [shall ye be] also of the consolation.

1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Thank you brother! I always enjoy new scriptures! I'm continuing moving forward everyday. This journey has been a challenging one. I'm truely trying to change for the better. I'm not perfect, but God is!! I'm so lucky to have him leading my life.

Continue to stay positive and take one step at a time brother. We are changed little by little from the moment we became believers of Christ Jesus. Even though the change isn't always quick or at times noticeable, we continue to hold on to the Hope that is Jesus that it will be completed!

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:

Thank you Christ4Ever. I'm still struggling to stay on track. I've been facing severe exhaustion each day to the point where I just sleep and work. I've been telling myself I need to get up and do more and read scripture more. Theres things from my past that still haunt me. I work nights...and each morning when I come home I check on my mother. With my brother now gone, she clinges to me. She has a sister who is threatening to commit suicide and the images and emotions of my brothers death are still very fresh. He passed away only 11 months ago. I used to be a respected public speaker, a team leader and mentor to employees. My drive vanished as I fought through my darkest days and allowed myself to let wrong things control me. Please continue to pray for me. I love and need God. I don't want to stray from him or ignore him. Life can be a huge challenge at times and things happen that we just don't understand. But I'm thankful that I serve a merciful God and have this support group to come to. God Bless

Dear Brother
It’s as if you haven’t had time to mourn the loss of your brother. The need to be strong to your family seems to be there all the time. It hasn’t given you time to mourn. Allow yourself to mourn my brother. You have been there for others. Allow Him to be there for you. He will be there for you! He will comfort you. Know that His love for you is great and unceasing.

Matthew 5:4 Blessed (are) they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

The only way to let it go is to give to Him who knows your pain, your loneliness.

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

He will hold you up brother. He is faithful to strengthen those of His who are wounded and support His children who are weighted down. His might is your might. His sovereignty lifts your head in these upsetting times you're going through. Look to Him for your rest and comfort! You’ll find it there brother!

Psalm 145:14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all (those that be) bowed down.

You know where your help will come from! He is the Creator of all things!

Psalm 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help (cometh) from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Believe He is sufficient to all the things you are going through right now! No matter the storms that come into our lives, we know we are taken care of.

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Praise Him, Praise Him, Praise Him, even as the tears roll down your face, Praise Him! It will almost seem that you’re going over the edge, but know that He will be there to catch you! Allow Him to engulf you with the Love and Peace that only He can give!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

You as a speaker, a team leader, and mentor to others, which has built you up almost to the point where you feel you have to be able to do it all yourself! No one can do it all, no matter how great you are in doing these things, your needs require attention as well. Others have had you to help them, but remember you have someone even better! Jesus! Remember He picked you!

John 6:44 No man can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.

Because He picked you, know He will take care of you as well! Let Him! He wants to! It’s no sign of weakness my brother. It’s a strength! He is your King, your Lord, and should be your everything. Allow Him to be just that.

Know you are Loved by the Lord brother, as you are by me and so many others! Our prayers are with you!
