Hello everyone :) It has been a while since I posted here because of finals and etc, but Ive been back for a couple of days now and it is great to see all of your posts again!

I am in need of prayer from anyone and everyone who is willing. This weekend the girl I have been seeing (Alison) for 3 years is going to make a decision that is related to her salvation. I would ask for anyone to pray that God guides her to the right decision, and the only right decision. Pray that God removes the scales from her eyes and that she sees clearly how much God deserves her love and service. Please pray if you read this, it's so important to me, and I do believe that God does in fact answer the prayers that take place here at TJ, I have seen it happen many times.

Thank you all for your support over these last months and thank you for viewing this post.

jculver, I have been thinking about her! (Alison) I have been wondering and wondering if she's come to Christ yet! Wow---God moves in mysterious ways. And I'm so glad to see you back here. How did you do on your finals?

I will certainly pray for Alison in her decision. God's timing is perfect and priceless.

Love in Christ,
Dreamer

I'm afraid things have not quite gone as planned. She has more or less rejected the faith and now It looks like game over for us. I don't really know what to do, but this is certainly the hardest thing I have ever done. In my time of need God has left me feeling completely 100% abandoned. I know he will never forsake me, but he has picked an extremely hard time to just disappear completely and he offers me no relief. I know I don't deserve his time, but this is just horrible. Nothing offers relief from this pain I am totally just lost. I can smoke about a pack of cigarettes an hour and it does nothing. No help from anything. I am on the brink and I just absolutely do not know what to do. Nothing is helping and I just want to go be with God and ask him to fulfill his promises sooner than he may have wanted. I just can't do this I don't know what to do, but I am loosing my grip on my faith and on my will to continue to try and live this hard hard road God has set out for me. I don't this I will pass this trial and I am not sure I will ever be able to.

Oh jculver.

I'm so very sorry to read that.

God is there for you even if you are not feeling it at the moment. Of course if a relationship ends, you will have be grieving and hurting over the loss. And as we don't know God's plan for us we question everything when we're in pain.

I don't really know what else to say, except that I will pray that you feel God's presence to comfort you. And I'm sure that everyone who reads your post will be thinking of you, so I hope that offers a little comfort too.

jculver, my heart goes out to you.
I've been experiencing feelings of despair lately too. A friend gave me this scripture, which helped, and I pray it helps you too;

'We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.'
2 Corinthians 4:8

Another scripture that helped me is from Isaiah 43:1-7

'But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth – everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”

I believe God never gives us more than we can handle; just take one day at a time. "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today" (Matt 6:34)

My prayers are with you, dear brother in Christ.

Jculver, I don't think you are wrong in feeling the way you do, but let's think logical for a while.

Alison had a choice, just like you did, believe in Jesus or deny Jesus, she chose the latter. Jesus said if you deny Him, He will deny you.

That's over and done with, there is always room to change and come back to Jesus, but the longer we stay away, the harder it becomes to return.

I am aware that you love this woman, but my dear man, what did your Lord say?

27Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"

28Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.

Deny yourself brother, take up your cross, take it again and follow the Master, our Master. I am not saying you should leave Alison, but if God puts it on your heart to do, do it without hesitation.

God bless
Much love

Amen, teraside.

jculver, I felt a little hesitant when you asked for prayer for a "one-time" choice by Alison. This past weekend may have not been God's choice, Alison may not be ready. The Holy Spirit is in charge of wooing her to Jesus.

It's not over 'til it's over.

Teraside has excellent words for you. Follow Jesus. We all go through trials, and there is nothing we can go through that Jesus hasn't been through worse. We have a high priest who understands.

"Though he were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." Hebrews 5:8,9

God bless you, jculver, you are very loved here at talkJesus.
