Brothers and sisters,
I really really need your help right now.
I read somewhere that we are to pray through the Holy Spirit. Could someone tell me how I should do this?
Thank you.

Praying in the spirit has nothing to do with making up fake sounds so God will better understand you. God is not that weak, He knows what you want before you ask.
Matthew 6:7-8 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Romans 8:26. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

If you have been born again, you are already in the Spirit. He abides within you forever. Do not let other people make you feel inferior because you are not able to work yourself into an emotional frenzy and utter made up sounds. Paul chastised the early church for this, he did not encourage it. He basically was saying, if you feel the need to do this, do it in your own time.
I can’t stress enough....DO NOT let other human beings dictate your relationship with God! Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Your relationship with Him is special between the two of you, don’t let anybody come between that. He is more powerful then any created being, He will always let you know what your next step is. If you feel judged or condemned or like your not measuring up that is not the Holy Spirit speaking to you, dismiss that voice and look through the scriptures for the promises of God concerning you. He cannot lie!!

Thank you sister AngieWebb.
I didn't feel it was right when I tried it.
I am following the path that has been sent to me and living every day in Faith, Truth and Love.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.
I feel very much assured by what you have said.
Take care and stay safe.

This has been such a hard topic for me. I am afraid of speaking in tongues (opening my mouth and letting anything come out).
So many people have made me feel like I am not saved because I don't do this.
I have however prayed nothing but groans not knowing what to say the noises just came out. When I have done this I have felt very close to God, it comes from within. I am not trying to do it.
But it doesn't happen all the time. I talk to God all day long but it doesn't always have tears or emotions.
I am in a place of confusion about my salvation. I thank you for posting this.❤️

Praying is our talking to God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit Does intervene for us when we don't know how To pray. But it has nothing to do with just opening our mouths and letting 'whatever ' come out. We Need to be focusing on Who we are talking To. Jesus Christ is our one and only mediator to God.

Jelly -- speaking in tongues is not a sign of our salvation. There Are those who are more emotional than others. They cry easier -- get caught up in emotionalism easily. Life doesn't happen in the 'unusual' -- but in the everyday praying -- our talking to God through Jesus Christ.

It's amazing how many people believe you have to speak in tongues in order to be saved.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Sister Sue D,
Thank you for explaining that.
This is all new to me, I have always prayed to the Father.
I just want to get it right. :) Thank you.

Thanks Sue

Jelly,
tongues are only one of the gifts of the Spirit, not all Christians speak in tongues and if the Spirit doesn't move you to, no problem but tongues are mentioned in scripture so to deny them, is to deny scripture. Corinthians 14 :1 - 4 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophesy. For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no-one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. Bless you

The spirit led me to search the scriptures further. It's funny how I think my fear (from bad experiences with people who speak in tongues) closed me from hearing the truth. God is so amazing when he opens things up☺️
Peace in Christ
