Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ Philippians 3:8 NLT

Even the most ambitious, aggressive men find that worldly success is elusive or unfulfilling. Average guys often learn that lesson early on.

Scripturally speaking, though, every worldly achievement is nothing—“garbage”, “loss” and “dung” in the language of the old King James.

What truly matters—what rises above all other things in importance—is knowing the Lord Jesus Christ. And, happily, that’s achievable by the ambitious and the average alike. Whether you’re riding high as the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or you’re a retired laborer in an assisted living facility, if you desire and pursue more of the Lord, He will allow you—like the apostle Paul—to “gain Him.”

Bible reading, prayer, meditation, church attendance, fellowship, service…whatever God the Father allows you to do, to whatever level, will lead you to have more of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit in your life.

Anything that came earlier, whether good or bad, is history. Only Jesus Christ matters going forward. This is our priority.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, grant me Your Spirit so I can better know Your Son. May Jesus Himself be my priority.

May the wisdom and love of Jesus fill us.

There is nothing that is worthless when created by God, as everything has its own purpose.

I've heard many people say out loud I am worthless, or without God I am nothing. I used to say things like that too, until the Lord told me until the Lord said to me, am I a liar. Jesus asked me if I was referring to him as a liar.

What God creates is perfection, now we may sin and cause imperfection within his creation, ourselves. But we are still perfect in God's eyes.

If you think about it, being a father to a child, we look at our children as perfection. Maybe we blind ourselves to their failures to look at the beauty of our kids. But God doesn't blind himself to the Perfection of his children, it's more that God looks at us with expectation of what we may be.
