Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7 NLT

The message from Psalm 37 is impressive—and a good one for a Christian man to follow. Start with being still. Move on to waiting patiently. Add the command to refuse to worry about or concern yourself with sinners who make evil plans. See? Good instructions.

But this passage continues with further directives. “Stop being angry! Turn from your rage!” (v. 8). “It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich” (v. 16). “The Lord directs the steps of the godly” (v. 23). “The godly always give…and their children are a blessing” (v. 26).

You’re asked to behave differently once you know, serve, and follow God. If you take these instructions to heart, your present life will look very different from the old life God helped you to leave behind. Today and every day, it’s good to remember that God can help you every day to make the good choices Psalm 37—and the rest of the Bible—encourages you to make every day.

Prayer: Father, keep me from those things that sidetrack me. Thank You for making big changes in me and helping me to make good choices.
