Reasons people become Atheist

I'm not sure any kind of survey was done on it. There's usually a multitude of reasons people become Atheist. The two biggies are Christians and the bible. The problem with most Christian sites that deal with this issue is that they're looking inside the individual Atheist for the cause.

The truth is the overwhelming causes of Atheism are found OUTSIDE of the individual. Most Atheist I know blame their transition to it on the book and the followers of the book.

I was friends with an Atheist co-worker engineer and continually picked his brain. I could talk with him about anything and got along with him better than most Christians - who I find quite offensive. Cross examined.org covers the issue of cause and they don't have anything right!

They tell us that the number 1 reason is people want to ...

1. The person desires moral independence. Often the person who becomes an atheist or agnostic wishes to make one’s decisions without anyone telling them otherwise, including God. Which is beyond bogus. Most Atheist never converted to Christianity anyway.

2. The person holds emotive reasoning. That is to say, the skeptic bases one’s decisions on emotions rather than reason and logic. This is even more bogus than #1! Logic and reasoning is PRECISELY why they convert to Atheism. In fact, by using Christian reasoning and logic - some of the outrageous interpretations by so called bible scholars literally prove that Daniel was a false prophet and that alone DEBUNKS the bible!

3. The person desires global unity. That is, the person becomes an atheist, or at least agnostic because one does not want to tell a person of another faith that he or she is wrong. I'm sorry but that is pure nonsense.

4. The person desires intellectual neutrality. As mentioned earlier, some do not test their beliefs. When the person’s beliefs are challenged, they are left without answers and hold that their previous worldview must not be true. Sorry, but is also a pile of nonsense.

Christians can't admit it! They are the problem! They are Christianity's worse enemy! Both Pew and Barna show Christianity has become irrelevant and is in a serious downward spiral. Esp. in Denominational Churches. AND - Many Christians are in denial of Barna's and Pew's findings! That only makes things worse for Christianity. NOT ONE of the reasons mentioned above are legitimate.

Karl Rahner at Northwestern University Sheil Catholic Center said, "The number one cause of atheism is Christians. Those who proclaim Him with their mouths and deny Him with their actions is what an unbelieving world finds unbelievable".

Between the book and the people like Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Ken Copeland, Todd White, Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Joseph Prince, Jesse Duplantis - OK I'll stop - these people reflect what Christianity is about! Then, to top it all off - unbelievers tend to think the Pope represents ALL of Christianity, and all they see is Catholic bashing and pope demonization. And then, - you have people who say the KJV is the only accurate bible - and all the other translations are Satanic bibles straight from the pits of hell! Then you have SDA'S who condemn over a billion brothers and sisters in the faith for going to church on Sundays claiming it's the mark of the beast! Then you have the diabolical fabricated Trinity doctrine that I've come to hate because of the people who CONDEMN others for rejecting it. Thousands were tortured and murdered...it's endless.

All these things contribute to Agnosticism and Atheism. The two main causes will always stand. Christians and the bible are the two major forces driving Atheism today. Considering all this, they see no logical reason to believe in a God whose followers are judgmental, offensive, and hypocritical.
