Receiving Spiritual Birth

All mankind are dead from birth
inheriting Adam's fallen nature
not able to hit God's high bar
falling short broken by sin's fracture

God demands absolute perfection
His glory is our benchmark
so the remedy is a new birth
spiritually changed light from dark

Jesus came to pay the price
so our sin could be put away
our salvation is a gift
that God gives on our conversion day

From then the Holy Spirit dwells within
changing and making us like our saviour
Christ indwells us making us new
His character shown by our behaviour

So everyone needs to be born again
born of God's spirit inside out
preparing to enter His eternal heaven
Clothed with God's righteousness without a doubt
