Upon his commission to a new congregation, a pastor decided that the steeple needed repainting.
He built a scaffold and started at the top.
As he progressed down he realised at various intervals that he did not have enough paint. so each time he added more water to thin the paint.
At the end, the paint job was a real disaster.
He received an order from the elder board which read "REPAINT, AND THIN NO MORE!"
