I have been retired for two weeks now, and I am just "digging" it, or should I say really really liking it!!
I can speed ALL my time on the forum, and only get off to go eat something and then return hoping someone responded back! What a life. Going to work just messed up my days back then. Hey, I only joined the forum two days ago and I am already at over 60 messages!!! Can anyone help me with my addiction? I feel like I live here! Help! :)

If you feel it is a negative in your life, well...you need to back off a while. Otherwise, you are welcome with the rest of us!

I have been retired since November of 2000 and while I still spend time on forums, I do have much happening beyond the forum. If you are spending time with the Lord daily, you will have favorable results. Time on the forum may or may not be time well spent with the Lord.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt 6:33

Give God the glory!

The gathering of the Saints together is not limited to being physically close. I find fellowship on the forum just as refreshing as being in a physical building.
No, I feel no condemnation being here no matter how much time I spend speaking God's Word to those on this forum or any forum.
Right now I am enjoying my freedom from having to have to go to work.
I do enjoy being here. :)

Brother, when you are on this forum, does it cause you to search and read the scriptures, looking to respond back to people?

Without a doubt! While I have my regular times of Bible reading and study, my forum time (not this forum only) draws me back to the scriptures yet again. No matter how much we have gained, there is still more that can be gained. God gives the increase in all cases but frequently (if not always) He uses people to implement those gains.

I agree, I find fellowship with God while I am here on this forum, not only in reading other peoples posts, but as the Lord leads me into what to say to others. It's fun!!

I can feel your enthusiasm from here! And i think it is great! Blessings to you!

And if it were not 'fun' would or should we not still desire to be in this place simply God wants us to be here?

"And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matt 26:39

I can not tell you how many times I have said, "I am done here. No more" yet here I am right back. What I want, and what I need to do are two different things.

Greetings @Curtis

So pleased you are enjoying your retirement being here at Talk Jesus
It is keeping you in the Word of God and in fellowship with other believers...that is surely a good thing.

So long as you are not neglecting other things in your life in a detrimental way such as wife, family, sleep, or other responsibilities, then enjoy the forum, knowing that the Lord will lead and guide you in the right way if you commit all to Him.

He led them forth by the right way
Psalm 107:7

Congratulations on your retirement, Curtis! God willing, only 12 more years for me! I have been enjoying reading your posts here on TJ.

Be careful who you are hearing and obeying. There is still an "old man" in you who has lost much of his dominion, but would like to regain what he lost.

There is on the other hand a "new inner man" guided by the winner of battles. We can reject Him as our Leader and lose a battle that He left with the reins in His hands would never lose.

As we come close to the Lord, ours "wants" and our "needs" should become the same. Jesus, as a man, had "wants" but he never allowed those wants to rule his life. We have a lifetime of bad habits to overcome, but we cannot do it, not alone!

Are we fully sheep yet, or is there still a bit of goat?

"And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice." John 10:4
