1 Timothy, Chapter 4, 16: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

The DOCTRINE is the COMMANDMENTS of JESUS CHRIST.

Yes we have to save our selves by following the commandments of Christ.

Like the Lord said to me, then why are you all not doing it?

Perhaps because we have not yet killed the "old man". Alone, we cannot do it, but through God in us are not all things possible? So then if we don't quench the Spirit of God in us, will not everything be done that needs to be done according to God?

Do you love the commandments of Jesus Christ? Yes or no.
And if you say, yes, then tell me how much you love them?

Are you ready to learn to
obey the commandments of Jesus Christ
one by one till you obeying them all?

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." Isaiah 28:10-13

I told the Lord this here you said to me, He said He is not at all, impressed by cutting and pasting bible verses. Or even quoting them for that matter. He said you will impress Him when you obey the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Hello Stephen Levi.

It might be useful to supply the list for the sake of the readers.

Hello Stephen Levi.

Because there seems to be a number of different lists offered as the commandments of Jesus.
It is rare that anyone bothers to compile the list of commandments for others to read.
Here is your chance to actually accomplish what few have ever done on TJ.

I told the Lord this you have said to me. He said to reply this to you.
Go get you a bible.
Go through the book of Matthew starting with the 5th chapter.
Pick out one (1) of any of the commandments of Jesus Christ.
Anyone you like.

Then obey it, everyday all day long , day after day.
Then pick another, and do the same, then another...so on and so on.
Here is your chance to actually accomplish what few have ever done

He also just told me to tell you to post here the one you are going to start with.

Greetings @Stephen Levi

The way you address people and the 'judgmental' tone that you use is not the right way to go about things here at Talk Jesus

Brothers DHC and amadeus2 have tried to engage in the thread with good points and questions
Perhaps think about what they are asking and how to answer them in a gracious manner

Shew me Thy ways...teach me Thy paths....lead me in Thy truth
Psalm 25:4-5

And if I already am by continuing to respond to you here?

Hello Stephen Levi.

I started reading through (Matthew 5) as per your instruction. Then I stumbled upon a verse that
I decided I will memorize and obey everyday. As you advised I have posted the verse and here it is.

Matthew 5
48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Everyday I will be perfect as my heavenly Father is perfect. I do hope that I can achieve the Father's
perfection because if I do not achieve this perfection then the following verse will apply to me.

Matthew 5
20 For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you
will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

I have never met a Pharisee, though the apostle Paul was a pharisee and this is what he had to say
about his own righteousness.

Philippians 3
If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more: 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the
nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; 6 as to zeal,
a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.

So Paul was blameless as far as the righteousness which is derived from the law. Thus Paul is the only
Pharisee that I know of so my righteousness must exceed Paul's blameless righteousness.

Will get back to you Stephen, probably tomorrow and I will tell you whether I have exceeded Paul's
righteousness in the law.

'unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees, you will not enter the
kingdom of heaven'.
