My question is simple is secular music good to reach the lost. Should we use secular music as a way to evangeliz

GOD created music mainly for us to worship Him. It is a gift. Whether we play or sing, do it unto the Lord. Praise GOD.

Psalm 144:9
I will sing a new song to you, O God; on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,

Psalm 147:7
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp

Psalm 57:7
My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music

Secular music is anything that is not christian music, music that is not dose not give glory to God is secualr music

hello

for me personally i don't listen to secular music.

lets suppose that you use secular music the evangelise, when these people actually come and they see differenty in the church what is going to happen.

in evangelising people should be shown what they are going to get let the method that use use to draw be something that will be consistent. remember we may change the packaging be we shouldn't change the goods.
we sometimes say this is a good secular song and it's positive but God did not call us just to be positive but hloy and righteous and most of all set apart.

we are to be in the world and not of the world, i personally see using secular music in evangelism as taiting the Gospel.

hope this helps

never lose your joy:note:
thankful:love:

There would be no way to win the lost with secular music.
When i got saved that was the first thing i changed, the music i listened to.
How will i win some to the Lord listening to running with the devil by van halen?
Not gonna happen:thumbs_do
Its nothing but garbage ....just like television .....

No...not at all...Secular music can't be used for evangelism...Now Daniel Bedingfield(one of my fave secular singers before I switced over to just Christian music) has come up with this song called 'Holiness' with awesome lyrics...but no, I don't think anybody is saved through it...Check out the lyrics of this song...

Holiness covers my weaknesses
Melting my selfishness ‘cause of you
Try with all my might but it’s your strength inside
Gives me the will to fight the battle through

And it’s gotta be the right road
I gotta go where you go
I wanna throw out my arms and seize the day for you
And it’s gotta be the right way
Make sure that you’re behind me
‘Cause you are the breakthrough light
You’re the one true sight, oh you

Loneliness plays to my darkness
Caressing my vengefulness when you’re not here
As pressure destroys my mind
You conquer me every time
By mending the brokenness behind my fears

And it’s gotta be the right road
I gotta go where you go
I wanna throw out my arms and seize the day for you
And it’s gotta be the right way
Make sure that you’re behind me
‘Cause you are the breakthrough light
You’re the one true sight, oh you

I can now look up and face my deepest shades
And the fire across my bow
‘Cause you know me and I know you

It’s gotta be the right road
I gotta go where you go
I wanna throw out my arms and seize the day for you
And it’s gotta be the right way
Make sure that you’re behind me
‘Cause you are the breakthrough light
You’re the one true sight, oh you

Holiness covers my weaknesses
Melting my selfishness ‘cause of you
