Hi. Even though I was born and raised and the church, and have attended pretty much all my life, I am just finally actually reading through the entire Bible. About half way so far.

Wondering where in the Bible it talkes about eternal life - particularly regarding being reunited with loved ones.

Thank you!

John 3: 3-5
  • To go to heaven you must be "Born Again" and this occurs when you profess your beleif in the saving Grace of Jesus and recieve the Holy Spirit in you.
  • If you are "Born Again" you go to heaven.
  • Only your "Loved Ones" born again will be reunited with you in heaven.
  • It is imperative that you tell all of your loved ones about Jesus in hope they too make the personal decision to accept God's free gift of Grace.

Two main views in Christianity,
one is that we won't recognize anyone, everything will be different, we will be changed so different that no one is recognizable. You won't know your wife, your parents, or anyone else that you knew on earth.

The second view is that everyone will be recognizable, and that we will be re-united with loved ones.

There is little Biblical support for either view, at least I haven't found any.

I think that there are many but the greatest support for me is the fact that God says we will have a body just like Jesus and we will share in all his inheritance, including the fact that everyone recognized Jesus in his resurrected and heavenly body. And don't forget, we will see him face to face and will know him as well as he knows us!
