Hello all,

I've been a Christian for my entire life. I've questioned faith here and there but have always felt that there is indeed an afterlife and Jesus is the son of God. Recently, I opened my own business and am now reading a paraphrased bible from start to finish. Perhaps the two are not coincidental.

I've always had book knowledge and a strong feeling that Jesus is real but I've never had a personal relationship. I research testimonies of folks who've heard God speak to them either through their heart, audibly, or had visions of God/Jesus in dreams, etc. I'm not content at this stage in life to just have book knowledge and a strong sense that God is real and Jesus is the way. I want revelation. I request your prayers of revelation and truth as I make my way through the bible. I really want to have a first hand experience with God.

The realization that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that He came to die for your sin---personally---and that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour---IS a revelation from God.

Yes I understand that. I think all Christians do. But that's just not good enough for me. Otherwise I wouldn't have posted a prayer request.

As long as you think that the wonderful revelation from God about His Son is not good enough for you, you will remain without further revelation, for these things are not to be coveted.

Be satisfied with the amazing blessing of knowing Jesus! There is definitely more for us to experience in Him, and you will no doubt experience Him in many new ways! Ask Him and then wait on Him!

Unfortunately not everyone understands what you are saying here. Many think a personal relationship is not required.
There are web sites that even say it is wrong or this is harmful. I've found some that even say the phrase "personal relationship with Jesus" isn't in the Bible. Others think simply believing in Him is the same thing as having a personal relationship with Him.
I have come to find out over the last few years, this is a foreign concept to many who say they are believers.

This is especially problematic for those who believe salvation requires no effort on our part.
Just stay strong in your conviction. There is certainly nothing wrong with wanting to know Him better.

Thanks for the reply. I can't stand when folks put limits on God. I thought this was a good place to request prayer for experiencing God/Jesus while I seek Him out through my own search.

Accepting Pascal's wager doesn't cut it anymore.

All I can say here is that there is a difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus. As one gets into scripture, God can be depended on to reveal Himself to those who are open to be led by Him.

Dear Hooah...I will pray for you that the Spirit of God will make scripture leap out at you with fresh revelation! The bible is a supernatural book, rich in power to change lives!

I am also praying here for God to provide whatever is really needed to plunge you into an unending relationship with Him. Also may God help you to do anything and everything necessary for it to happen.
