I accepted Christ about a year ago into my life. Everything was going awesome! I was on fire for Christ and everything but the past couple of months have been bad..
Whenever I just go to pray or think of Jesus or anything for that matter my body just will not let me. Like my body will just squeeze up on the inside and just convince me that he isn't real or I'm wasting my time. It's the same feeling as when you're about to jump in a pool for the first time and your body stops you. The thing is I've never been more in my bible and actually trying to be obedient to God as now. I feel the Holy Spirit growing through me but I don't understand why this is happening to me. I'm striving to have faith and trust in Jesus again. I want it more than anything in the world but my flesh will not let me. And I'm just listening to the evil one when he tells me I'm not saved and I'm going to hell because of this. I need help.

You need to read Romans 7 and see how Paul explains his struggles. You and I are no different, we all struggle. To have doubt that he is real and "all" this is true is common for us all from time to time, and the closer you get to Jesus the more you are going to have to understand how to deal with it. I suggest you read what Paul said about the end result of this struggle in Romans 8:1 and go back to the time you first believed and live it!......what happened to you was real and all so true. Stay in God's word and tell Satin to take a hike!...God Bless!

Hi @Amberstimpfle

We all have our struggles, but I'd like to point out that God is faithful. You believe in Jesus Christ, you're saved. Nothing can separate you from GOD. Not sin, not feelings or occasional doubts that every believe has from time to time, at least in the early journey of their walk.

Some encouragement for you...

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5: 7

Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. Psalm 55:22

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1

What helps me is listening to worship music or sermon podcasts. I always recommend this to others, some of my favorite preachers that will uplift you:
David Jeremiah
Charles Stanley
Derek Prince
Francis Chan (just started listening to a few of his sermons, excellent, humble, straightforward preacher).

Thank you so much, do you think my flesh is convinced of this because i have been listening to the lies?
Once i gave jesus my life i am saved..? The evil one has thrown all these thoughts into my face. what should i do?

Romans 10:9-10
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

The devil will always try to make you doubt your salvation. He hates you as a Christian and hates GOD. Ignore his lies. Want to know the truth? It's all in the bible. Read it daily, add some devotionals as well and you'll be transformed by the "renewing of your mind" with the Word. The Holy Spirit will teach you along the way.

Ephesians 4:20-24
20But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Renew Your Mind

It has been often said that the mind is the devil's playground. There is a lot of truth in that statement as so many of the spiritual battles we fight against our enemy take place in the mind. Maybe it's the guilt of a past sin that our spiritual enemy continues to place into your mind or the cravings of an addiction that you have not fully overcome. Perhaps, he whispers negative words that give you doubts about your faith or your ability to accomplish what God has intended for you to do. Do as Romans 12:2 says today and allow God to transform you through the renewing of your mind. Pray and ask God today to remove the negative thoughts our spiritual enemy continues to infiltrate your mind with and allow God to renew your mind and replace the negativity with clarity and purity. Let God help you fight the battle in your mind and gain victory.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. •• Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1-2‬

Sister in the Lord all I can do is confirm more to what has already been said here. Becoming a new creation in Christ is just like a new born baby in the physical world. It takes time to learn how to control all of your new found "spiritual" senses that have become active at the new birth. We not only have a spiritual enemy to contend with, but also the un renewed physical mind that is the enemy of God. Your body and physical mind want to still control all you do, which is why you are finding yourself hard to concentrate on spiritual things. The natural carnal mind can not receive the things of God neither can it know them for they are "spiritually" understood in your new heart, where Christ lives. As you begin to renew your physical mind to the Word of God, all these other problems will fade away as the new man of the heart by the Holy Spirit takes control, and leads you to do your Father will through Christ Jesus.
