I used to listen to classic music all the time, but when one day a musician pastor answered to this question at christian youth conferance, i completely understood my fault. He told that there is no anything bad to listen to classic music but it doesn't give you heavenly Life, you don't glorify Him with listening to classic music. Instead of that you can listen and sing christian songs to glorify Him as much as you can and not waste your time, because He is coming soon.Amen

God made man. He made us just as we find ourselves. "Fearfully and wonderfully made" the bible says. We can accommodate so much, our minds are phenomenal.....we can grasp so much....and enjoy so much.

Music is wonderful....all kinds of music. Guess what? God gave us the intellegence to be able to discern what music we like and what music we do not like.

Amen...that is how He made us.......and He loves us so much.

I am sure that 'jazz' will be played in heaven.........and all kinds of music.

Enjoy your music....and be blessed.....in Jesus

I think your pastor's advice would be good for certain circumstances and maturity levels.
Sometimes I am at a place so strong and confident in the Lord that no matter what I listen to it makes me focus on the things of God and sometimes when I am weak and need to eat of that living bread I need every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Some of the Christian music I like actually contain error in some of the perspectives they present but they minister to people at a certain maturity level and I still listen because they remind me of faith battles that the Lord won on my behalf in the past even when my understanding was way off.

I suggest making your own lyrics that your heart is speaking to you in the spirit.
I think the reason you listen to it is that you sense something divine in it and that it is edifying you.
How cool would that be to have the spirit give you the words to describe what you are sensing.

Amen...that is how He made us.......and He loves us so much.

I agree:
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

I listen to a lot of music, however, I've noticed something. I've had a bad rap music shortage right until I discovered that there are a lot of good Christian rap artist out there. A song being Christian music is not necessarily a requirement to me liking a song, but clean lyrics are a big requirement, and a majority of rap music isn't clean unless it's Christian or kids rap, and even then, not every song is clean.
