Making dates for Christ's return is something that the Bible says we shouldn't do, so I will never do it. But, those who have studied the prophecy and those who are up to date on current events surely know that we are getting close to the acceleration of end time events.
God is one who does not act suddenly. God gives warning signs to prepare us for what is about to happen. Many major events have been foretold in the Bible. This scriptural knowledge allows us to prepare, but we know that events are upon us when we see God working through people to warn us even more.
Amos 3:7 "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets"
I believe that during the remainder of 2005 we will see more signs that will prepare the church for the return of our glorious saviour. I believe these signs will include the following:
- A terrorist attack greater and more co-ordinated that 9/11. The attack will involve multiple countries (USA, Canada, England, Spain, Israel, and possibly more EU nations). The attack will involve more planes being hijacked/bombed. I believe that if the USA is to be attacked with planes once again, they will come from foreign countries (such as Canada). It is also likely that truck bombs will be used and it is quite possible that we could see hostage-taking tactics (like we saw at the school is Beslan, Russia)
- A more devastating hurricane season than we saw last year in both the atlantic and pacific regions. The hurricane season typically runs from June - November. I believe that the next Al Qaeda strike could come during this hurricane season. This belief is based on a Bible quote (provided below).
- The spread of the Asian bird flu. Scientists have recently been saying that the virus is on the verge of mutating. If it mutates, a pandemic could be imminent.
One sign i believe we saw recently is the South Asian tsunami. I believe that this tsunami directly relates to Matthew 24:37-39, Luke 17:26-27. Either this flood was the one, great flood before the second coming, or we have other similar floods ahead of us. It is inevitable that we will see some large earthquakes this year. It is only a matter of whether they are sea-based or not.
Here are some scriptures that relate to the signs I have been speaking of:
When referring to the fall of Babylon......"The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land" Isaiah 21:1
"But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments." Isaiah 47:9
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring" Luke 21:25
Could waves roaring be a reference to the tsunami???
"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places." Matthew 24:7
Pestilence is a fast-spreading disease that kills large numbers of people. We have many diseases in this world, but not many of them could be called a pestilence. If we see a bird flu pandemic, it would surely be a pestilence.
I may be right about these signs, or I may be wrong. Only time will tell. But I assure you, I have done my homework. Regardless of whether I'm right or wrong, God has promised us that he will give signs before he sends his son for the second time. He will prepare the believers and the non-believers. It is harvest time and God wants as many people on board as possible. Reach out to eachother in these times. It is time to make priority number one saving as many souls as we can. We have heard the word, now we must go forth with it.
"So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." Matthew 24:33
