Sin Hurts

ROMANS 6:23 ICB
23 When someone sins, he earns what sin pays--death. But God
gives us a free gift--life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sin is a teacher whose lessons are hard and painful.

You can't keep your hand in fire without being burned. And you
can't sin without hurting people.

Sin harms humans. That's why God classifies it as sin. All sin
hurts someone. The reason God is against sin is because He is
for people.

Because sin has consequences, it eventually will convince you
of the error of sinning -- if you live long enough. But why
ruin your life finding out what you can know now just by
reading the Bible?

God is not a killjoy. His purpose is not to keep the human race
from enjoying life.

All that God has written in the Bible is for our benefit. God
already knows everything. He gave us the Bible so we could know
the truth.

The truth is: sin is bad. Sin hurts.

SAY THIS: Sin is deadly and I want nothing to do with it.

Sin hurts God. Sinning really effects God emotionally and it did effect God physically.

Genesis 6:5-6 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And we all know that God became flesh, and died on the cross for us, in order to save us.

What About The Most Important Person??

As far back as I can remeber in my early childhood even at 3, I was aware that when I did wrong it hurt THE LORD GOD and that would always break my heart. He never did anything to deserve the hurt He goes thru when His children fall. I was like this even before I was saved so now that I am a Christian I always want to do what pleases Him and make Him happy. If we would just stop and think about that when we are tempted, instead of reacting how we want, we would walk in the Spirit more and not follow the flesh. The Word of God says not to grieve the Holy Spirit. He desires so much to bless us, and thats His promise to us, but lets think about this: How can I bless God????

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

about sin

Hi there,
I'm newbi here and reading the site for the most. And i stumbled over the this article about sin. Yes, I agree, the sin hurt people including the one self. As i red this thread thought crossed my mind, I see many of you have many answers so you might have another one too:
Speaking of sin, What if you can't control your sin? You know it's sin, you know it gona hurt you but you cannot control it?
You cannot stop it. It's out of your power. Like you're in Devil's Grip.
What should have been prayed?

If we want to honor and please God we will want to be free from things that grieves Him.

Please my brothers and sisters, we are too weak to handle things on our own. Nothing is too big for Jesus, He will help you. If any of you need prayer ask for it. Take your problem to Jesus, He is real, He will help. Go to a church ask for help. Come to TJ we will pray for
you

And always remember Christs neverending love for us, that no sin is too big for him to forgive. He is waiting and willing to forgive us ALWAYS.

Pray that God will make your desires be what He desires. The Devil can't make a Christian sin. We choose to sin. Pray for strength from God to resist the temptation to sin. Pray every day to be more like Him. Then make sure you are keeping your mind on Him by studying the Bible, praying, and worshipping Him. You could even come up with a plan for what you will do next time you are tempted. Maybe get out your Bible, call a Christian friend, start praying, or even log onto talkjesus and chat with someone.

Thank you for your replies. I'm new here so i didn't paid much attention to check it sooner. I have though some input to ask, if you know.

I know that the right way is to confess your sins. But i don't know how to do it.
I even say that i'm not capable of it. I feel sometimes that i know what my sin is but i'm not able to confess it right way - with the heart. I say/pray maybe bunch of things but i don't feel i confessed, i know that my heart didn't get out what is bothering me. I may be on the wrong track, thinking that something is sin while it isn't, and maybe something else is sin.

The Devil can't make a Christian sin. We choose to sin.

This line telling me that i/we/people sin by ourselfs and that the Devil has nothing to do with it. This can't be true, otherwise what purpose Devil has?
It can't be that He doesn't have His fingers in it. I think He's the one who's pushing us in the wrong direction, so yes i think, He makes us do it, offcourse because of our corrupt hearts. Our hearts are currupt so He takes advantage of it hence He's the one also responsible for it.
What if you were good Christian and then your were 'attacked' by bunch of people wanting to get you and hurt you, probably led by Him.
So after that you begin to sin, because they destroyed something in you and your heart becoming currupt like theirs but you wasn't asking for trouble but still you get it in your innocence.

I think the person that said that its us who sins si right.The devil proly sets up the situation and puts it in front of you..but its up to us to walk away from it and turn to God and go in His direction instead of the devils.

To the answer to your question, I believe you are:

"So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law." (Galations 5:16-18)

Reading the word daily and ask Holy Spirit to guide and teach you will certain be the first step. Not only be in tuned to God but give Him total control over your life and you will be amazed by the change in you. God bless.

It so true how sin really hurts the one we love. Even the one who is our first love - Jesus Christ. How it must hurt him when we sin? It should be our task is to 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind' and when we do this everything will fall into place.

This is one of my favorite verses . [ it is not self-seeking ] I like this part best . I have alway's said , if there is something in our live's that we cannot give up , or lose , then we still have a covetous spirit .

thanks for the kind words.
your answer is right. i found that out years ago and i'm well aware of it.
i know that sin gives birth to death. and i died. but at that particular past time i was not aware of anything, i was not aware of God, they told me He doesn't exist. And all of a sudden i stod in the flames of Hell.
but i was pulled up. it tooks so many years. to tell you the truth, today is a special day for me, i felt it all day long and the thought was crossing my mind
'I'm back on Earth'. after 15 years. because today i really feel that i came out of the darkness and saw the light of the earth. i was in total peace, no worries, but the joy. i looked up the sky, it was so beautiful spring sky with its beautiful colors and i said to Him 'You're up in the sky some place', and i said to Him
'I'm back on earth' but i guess He already knew it, because it was Him that led me way back through the chambers of Hell. Can you belive it? To come back from the Hell. Even that is possible.
and the only thing needed to never come downthere in darkness is:
Open your heart to God and He'll fill you with the joy. Open your dark, sinfull,
angry, broken heart and i think you'll be in Paradise and never see nothing but the light. Let the all anger flow to Him, He'll make the river of joy of it.
If i knew about the God when i was young i sure will never had to see the darkness. It's first in the darkness that i saw what the Truth is. And actually
He showed His hand in my darkness and that moment is the moment whan i
begun to understand the whole thing. At that moment i realised He pulled me up from the Hell but not quite back to the earth. It took another 5 years to get where i'm now and i just hope to continue with it. And my greatest
and unbreakable wepon is rosary prayer and to open my heart to Him.
tell Him all the good and bad things i have.
