Scripture tells us to confess ourselves to one another, and to despise our pride - so I am confessing here that I have slipped and am smoking again.

I hate it, I hate that I am a slave to it, i hate that i can be strong in the spirit and this pittifully weak in the flesh, i hate what I am doing to the temple, I hate that i am impeding his glory in my life. I know all the reasons not too, but the toe hold has become a stronghold through my own rebellion. I have heard it said that the stronger the attacks from evil, the closer you are to the Spirit, there is consolation in that because I must be close.

I bring this before all of you humbly that I, as a man, cannot beat this alone - tried - failed. If you are willing please pray over me for strength in the spirit to not only push this back but rid it entirely.

thank you in advance and be blessed.

Father, I lift my brother up to you in the name of Jesus. You have heard his cry for help, and his honesty in bringing it here for prayer. Father we come to you now and ask you to take away that desire for a cigarette. May he take the strength you have given him and not take another cigarette from this moment on. As he changes his mindset and turns to you, may you fill him so full of the Holy Spirit that You will be his one desire. I praise you as the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords, knowing that you are the God who answers prayer. Amen

Your in my prayers brother. I used to smoke when I was a teenager. Sick habit, but GOD *BROKE* the chain like an iron Heavenly fist :)

Lean on Jesus Christ for strength, in FAITH

Amen: will be praying for you...i smoked a lot myself, then a Doctor told me that it can cause more pain in the upper back area if you already have upper back pain.. shoulders and such, i just laughed at it and said to my wife no way. So just a short time ago the lord told me to quit, so i did and the Doctor was right...but praise the Lord Jesus he led me to the problem, or 50% of my problem... and it was smoking. The lord is good and will lead us to a better life with him, because he cares for our health.

God bless

Have you tried thanking God for it. It may sound crazy but it works. Remember when St Paul was stuck, read 2 Cor 12:8-10 carefully. If you cannot beat the habbit you are stuck, you are weak and the reason God alows these things is so that you can run into His strength and the power of Christ may settle on you and lift you right out of the problem, sin or whatever.

Blessings,
Tonyb
