As I have started my journey into christianity, I have gotten alot of advices about seeking the local church or christian community. Me, being quite a loner and tend to keep mostly for myself, having the question: Do I need to participate in any social activity to get better understanding of christianity?

There are some events churches have where new people get to know others, including people who aren't Christians. I do recommend going to social events, but don't limit it to that. Go to a Christian bookstore; there are countless books about being a Christian and ask the people who work there for assistance in finding some good books for you.
