I find it difficult to understand this. When we submit everything to God, does that mean that we must put it behind us because its in God's hands. i find it hard to do this, everytime i pray, i just find myself praying for the same thing over and over and over and over again, does this mean i have little faith?

I don't think so. The Bible says to pray without ceasing (1 Thess:5:17) and that the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much (James 5:16). Some things, I believe, simply require more prayer. When we submit something to God (a job application, for example) it doesn't mean that it ceases to exist in our mind or should. It just means that we accept how God chooses to deal with it. Be encouraged and keep praying.:shade:

Jesus himself taught us about persistent prayer in the Parable of the Persistent Widow (Lk 18:1-8). There have been good things, needed things in my life that I prayed for for years before the prayers were answered. As to doubt, whenever it pops up, chase it away (Mk 11:23).

I totally understand where you're coming from with this one: I often think the same things. When we surrender things to God in prayer, the things we keep thinking about tend to be the things that mean most to us e.g the people we love.

It's tempting to always pray for them over and over again, but doing this doesn't meant that we don't trust God with what we've already entrusted to Him. It's cheesy but surrrender really is a journey as opposed to a destination - we have to continually remind ourselves to surrender every aspect of our lives to God, and doing this doesn't mean that our faith is weak :)

Keep praying - the fact that you're praying in itself shows that you desire to deepen your relationship with Him :) take care honey xxxxx

hi

Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you;seek, and you will find;knock, and it will be opened to you. for everyone who asks receives, andhe who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

In the margin of my bible it says it is more accurate to say "keep seeking, keep asking, keep knocking"

Jesus prayed for the same thing three times in the garden of Gethsemane (matthew 26:36-44)

I do not belive you have little faith otherwise you would not be praying at all, and if Jesus prayed for the same thing 3 times then so can we.

In a way, we are to keep things behind us, but how are we to remember things that God has done for us? How are we to have a testimony if we are to forget things?

I believe we are to remember things, but not let them overtake us.

I believe that God does not get bored with us when we pray about the same things over and over.

After all, He is the one who never sleeps.

Keep praying for what ever you want and also what we are commanded to pray for...like those that are do the labor, the peace of Jerusalem, etc. Just keep PRAYING..that in it's self shows FAITH in an unseen God.

One of God's titles, or names or is called "Abba Father"... talk to him as his child with him being your Daddy;

opinion n what I see in God's Word

I don't think it's wrong. But a little advice, don't think of prayer as just you asking for things etc. But think of prayer as just a fancy word for conversation. Let God talk back. Tell God everything, troubles, favorite smells, friend drama, even really tiny things like how much you enjoyed walking through the park that one day or that really good cheese pizza you had. God wants to hear everything, not just what you want. God knows everything about you, it's just a matter of you talking about it to Him. Don't be afraid to talk to Him aloud either. Trust me, it'll make your relationship with Him so much more intense. :)

I agreee. Also look at how many times Job prayed, or Paul as well as King Solomon.
