Soul Fighters
We are all familiar with fire fighters who risk their lives daily to go into a burning building to rescue people they know and people who they have never met before. The job of fire fighter involves the protection of life and property by combating, extinguishing and preventing fires. We are soul fighters, ambassadors of Christ searching and seeking to save lives that are lost.
Have you ever watch a movie where someone was about to commit suicide? Do you see how a certain individual will go on the ledge and do whatever they can to prevent that person from taking their lives? We are call to be like that individual going out on the ledge for our family members, friends and people we don’t know. Our love ones are committing spiritual suicide daily.
We see them at the liquor store, on the corner smoking, cursing; we know of their sexual immorality, lying and the list go on. A Christians we need to realize that as a soul fighter those things cannot be going on in our presence and we not do or say anything. Do you think a firefighter would watch someone be on fire and just be ok with it?
This is people life that I’m talking about their souls it lives on for eternity this is not temporary. Many people we see knocking on hells door and we are not doing anything to pull them out. We are not trying to extinguish the fire but sometimes we encourage the flames by not acting. As Christians we are not doing our job when we just trying to chill and fit in with people that are lost in sin.
We are familiar with the story of the Good Samaritan find in Luke 10:30-37. See the real deal with that parable was to show how some of us our going on with our daily lives. We see people that are dying daily and unlike the Samaritan we are like the priest, and Levite that pass them by on the way to church or whatever we think that is more important than people souls. Nothing is wrong but carry those you know who are hurting and lost with you. Yea you are safe but what about your neighbor?
The Samaritan was consider the outcast in the parable but he was the one that stop and help the man. When we fall down as Christians there are many other religions ministering to these hurting people and leading them a stray. That’s is how so many people are lost and following Selassie, Buddha, Mormon, Jehovah Witness, Muslim and the list goes on.
I urge you and command you followers of the most High God Jesus Christ to get serious about the job Christ has given us. We need to go out on the by way and highway and speak thus says the Lord. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
