Hi,

I just wanted to share a story that happened to me during my early childhood. When I was about 10 years old I was watching a movie in my moms room upstairs late at night with my family (my dad was not home, it was only my sister, mom, and grandmother). It was raining outside and out of the blue our alarm system went off. Because we live in a semi-dangourous city we had this alarm installed and it was top of the line. It never glitches and only went off if someone went in the door when it was armed. We believed someone had entered our house because of the dangerous city and previous experiences of people coming to our door. We swore we heard the door close and our dogs abruptly stopped barking. We truly thought we would die. It may seem crazy but in the moment I thought about how on the news it would show our faces and talk about our death, it was that serious. My mom stacked tables and pillows across the door and called 911. I did not have a true relationship with Jesus at the time but suddenly in the wake of our (believed) death my sister and I held hands and prayed to Jesus. We called to Him and asked Him to save us. Not much later the police were outside and asked us to slowly exit the room while on the phone with them. So, we moved to items away and no one was in the house. We stayed at a hotel for a week because we were that scared. I have never told this story before, nor has anyone in my family ever talked about it since the day it happened because it was so scary and caused so much fear. Now I don't know if it was the storm that caused the alarm to go off or if there was truly someone there in the house, but I learned from the experience that you should always called upon His name in your time of need. Even though I was not a true believer in Christ at the time, I now know that God can truly influence us beyond our knowledge. Thanks for reading. If you have any questions or comments I would be happy to reply.

What do you think?

Blessings in the Lord Jesus;
The entire situation was consumed by fear of the world.
The storm, the darkness, what lurks in the darkness, imaginations run wild.
Fear pulls us closer to Jesus and we find ourselves resting upon Jesus bosom; like you and your sister did.
Being uprooted and shaken out of our comfort zones, we find our greatest fear was because we was not in right standing with God to begin with.
Now, that God has awakened us and we called upon Him; we have nothing to fear, but Him
To live is Christ; To die is gain.

When tragedy strikes; God is exalted; because we find ourselves CRYING OUT Abba Father; we have a repentant heart.
Your inner man, even though you wasn't aware you had one yet, took over, crying out Abba Father. Amen

God is in control, sis.
Who are you going to believe; this world that continues to let you down, or God who knows your needs and always shows up the way? Amen.

Yes. This experience gave me I real wake up call about how I need to trust Jesus more. At the time I was young and I am continuing to grow in my relationship with Him. Thank you for writing this and it has helped me learn. I will continue to grow in my trust in God and know that he knows everything about me and has a plan for me.

May God bless you!
