Exodus 12:49 : One law shall be to him that is homeborn and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you
God care for the stranger in our midst
Psalms 146:9 : The LORD preserveth the strangers;he relieveth the fatherless and the widow: but the way of wicked he turneth upside down
Love the Stranger
Leviticus 19:34 :But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were stranger in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God
Fair Justice to the Stranger
Deuteronomy 24:17 : Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger nor of the fatherless nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:
Who is this stranger in our live? In our context, stranger can be anyone.
Fair enough if world today, we demonised those Muslim or even worst mistreated migrant worker and can be considered as modern day slavery by making profit such of it.
I been reflecting this word 'stranger' but praying is not enough if we don't have action in our life. In the end of the day, these least of people still under oppression.
We can't pray for a bowl of soup and asking God to provide it for us. A soup won't if we did not take action on it.
Lets reflect on what we pray everyday....is it all put in God's hand?...
