That's a tough one. I think that in the end it is impossible for us to know. I mean Jesus came to bring us back into a relationship and it is having a relationship or not having a relationship that determines where we would go after we die. But it is often hard to determine the conditions of a person's heart and their relationship with God, especially when they commit suicide. So I don't have an answer for you.

Somebody I knew very well killed himself, he was very religious but heard voices that he said were demons talking to him from hell. He found it unbearable.
He was such a lovely lovely person, it is hard to think of him still suffering.

I am sorry. I can't think of anything to say that could help since there is no taking back what has happened. But can I ask how you are doing?

Feel very heavy. He prayed all the time. I think he couldn't take the screaming of the demons, and praying didn't help. It's so sad.
He took medication, that didn't help either.
He always spoke about God/Jesus positively. As far as I know, he always accepted Jesus as his saviour and that gave him some comfort.
Does the act of suicide send you to hell regardless of belief.... that would be so so wrong... Does anybody know?

I can't speak for what was going on with him but my honest belief is that if he had a relationship with Jesus then I do not see why he would go to hell regardless of the circumstances of death. But again that is just my belief based on what I know about God. The bible just doesn't say much on this matter so again this is just what I believe.

I lost a friend to suicide years ago. It still hurts. I hope to see him again when Jesus returns.

There's nothing in the Bible to say that God rejects anyone who takes their own life.

Hearing someone ending their lives is devastating and affects families and friends.
the enemy is a liar and is out to kill, steal and destroy, to give no hope, deceive, despair, and every other negative thing. the enemy's goal is to take one's mind off of God.

Jesus told us to never give up and to always pray.

It is a hard one, but having been extremely close to suicide, prior to, and many years after accepting Jesus into my heart and life, I can only share what I feel from scripture having been in the dark desperate situation.

Thou shalt not kill, does this not include oneself? Yes it does.

God gives life, then surely this tells us, to take the very life God gave us has to be sin.

Now I wonder, we can say, once saved always saved, but to take ones life, the one God gave us, could we lose our salvation?

There are many stages between the thoughts of suicide and actually doing it, these thoughts can be based on what we are going through, what we are experiencing, how we are coping to how we are not coping, they can be caused many ways, a sudden change in life, losing a loved one, losing a job, etc. Whatever the cause they all take our eyes off Jesus, they all cause us to look at self and where we are at that time. How will I cope, how can I cope, I cannot cope. As that happens the devil increases his grip on us, the thoughts become more real, they go over and over in our mind, we plan the stages, they go over and over in our mind, until they become spiralling thoughts driving us into a black hole, into the pit, we try get put but slip deeper in, the light at the end of the tunnel dims and disappears.

The question is, are we still saved if we commit suicide?

Another question is if, 'Lord forgive me' are the last words we say/pray are we still saved?

It is easy to say loved ones, family or friends should pick up the signs before they get to the final crunch. My wife didn't pick up on my situation until the very end, it was that close. We hide our feelings and at times we hide them extremely well. But there are signs, when we are so depressed, we are often quieter, often shut ourselves off more, don't want to be with other people, we don't answer the door when someone calls.

Are we still saved if we take our own life, the life God gave us? I don't know, all I know is that it is better for people who are saved and considering such thoughts to realise they are taking away the life God gave them, that is a sin. Thou shalt not kill, even ones self, it is a sin, it is disobeying God's commandment, probably more so, as it is our body, that God gave us, that is being taken from Him.
