do we really take the authority over our lives that we should?

do we actually take the control of our lives that we are instructed to do?

i know that we all here love our Lord, and that we praise His Holy name. i also believe and trust that we are filled with His Spirit and that we all try and live a life of love, a life that He has personally decreed for each and everyone of us.

however do we take control of the influence that the devil tries to impose on our lives? do we impose ourselves and our Lord on the evil one when he tries to enter? Christ has given ourselves authority over the evil one and all his demons. the question i ask, for it is a question that was recently asked off myself, is do we use this authority? do we impose this power that Christ has given to us, or do we rely on Christ to work for us?

all i know is that since the day i was personally challenged to take this control, the evil one was more vigorous but over time i have seen and heard him less, either that or he has become more subtle.

Luke 4:8 'and Jesus answered and said to him "get behind Me, satan" it is written "you shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve" '

Deuteronomy 31:7 'be strong and of good courage'

personally when i tell the evil one to get behind me i also like to re confirm that my life and my heart belongs to Christ and the Christ alone is all my life needs.

try it, it has helped me

God bless

Amen scrappy!I dont think the devil ever forgets about you but when he sees you as resolute for the Lord he may divert his attentions to easier targets. Its often when things get out of control in our lives that the devil seeks to creep back in.Interesting thread bro.

What did Jesus do when the enemy came agaisnt Him? He said "It is written". And we must do likewise. Use the Word of God on him . There is power in the Word. It is sharper than a two-edged sword and he has to flee in Jesus name!!

No I don't to the first two, Scrappy! I fall so short in these areas but Praise Him for sending you to be used to remind us! Another reason I need to get on my knees for the bonehead things I do and ask Him to help wipe the mud of my shirt.

Your servant in Christ Jesus.

Great thread Scrappy !!! We should use the authority given to us by Jesus Christ . Anything less would be a waste of a mighty sacrifice . Mike

Amen scrappy. I love using the power of GOD's Word to command evil to flee, to command sickness to flee and always assure myself that I am strengthened through Christ and no one else, nothing else.

It does in deed work!
