"Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me. Acts 27:25

Less than fifteen years ago, archaeologists announced the discovery of what appears to be one of the four massive Egyptian-made anchors from an Alexandrian ship that sank off the coast of Malta. Normally, such shipwrecks would have entailed the loss of many lives. Yet not so in Acts 27, which you read about on July 18.

Luke's eyewitness account offers the apostle Paul's warning not to undertake the voyage so late in the year. It also describes a massive storm that lasted two weeks, causing great loss of cargo, tackle, anchors--and the massive cargo ship itself. Finally, it offers a wonderful glimpse into Paul's deep trust in God.

With all hope lost, Paul has the audacity to declare his emphatic belief that God will do exactly what He had promised the previous night. Only a man who knows God's voice could convincingly tell others, "Have courage! All will be lost, but none of you will die."

The same God who could speak and create the entire universe never breaks a sweat. Luke happily records that all 276 passengers survived the shipwreck--just as God promised.

How good that Paul believed!

Prayer: Lord, I want to trust You in every area of my life. I give all my fears and worries and concerns to You. Thank You in advance for what You're going to do.

Thats why we also must keep His Ten Commandments and have THE faith of Jesus.
