Blessed be the Lord! Day after day he bears our burdens; God is our salvation. Selah Psalm 68:19 CSB

Heavy boxes at the home improvement store often spot a black-and-yellow Team Lift Label. For the safety of what’s inside—the box and your body—you’ll want to enlist another person’s help in moving it.

When it comes to our heavy spiritual burdens, the Lord is always ready to help. Sometimes He bears them all, as today’s scripture indicates. A New Testament counterpart is 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.”

But often the Lord wants to carry the weight with Him. In the words of Jesus, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). He does the heavy lifting, like a father who asks his toddler to “help” move something. Dad could handle it himself, but he wants his little one to learn to work and stick with a job. That’s why God calls us to persevere in hardships—whether in marriage or family or job or church or any of a thousand other challenging situations. We’ll discover His own strength, which is always available if we get overwhelmed.

When we “team lift” with the Lord, we’ll never hurt ourselves or fail to accomplish the goal. Those are great reasons to praise Him.

Prayer: Lord, I thank You for helping me carry life’s heavy burdens. May I do my part, knowing that You always have the whole weight in hand.
