Hi all, a volunteer where I work told me this week that their ex partner's Mum, her children's Nan, has quite unexpectedly just been diagnosed with an illness and is, incredibly sadly, expected to live for around just one more week. Prayer around this would be really appreciated - that she will feel comforted at this time and live for much longer than this in comfort and happiness. Also for her salvation too... I am not sure if she is a believer or not. Thank you so much.

Psalm 116:15

Dear Heavenly Father,

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray for the Grandmother of Janer' s colleague's children, who has been told she has but a short time to live. Pray too for her grandchildren, and Janer' s colleague and her partner.

We pray that this time will present opportunity for all concerned to consider that You 'ARE', and that You reward those who diligently seek You, that they may seek after you and find you.

We pray that they will hear the good news concerning your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who has taken the penalty of our sin upon Himself and died in our place, that we may by believing on Him, and trusting in the efficacy of His redeeming work, receive forgiveness of sins, and the hope of resurrection life through Him.

In your compassion and grace, may you reach through their fear, and bring the comfort of hope to them, in the knowledge that their life may not be for this life only, but that with Christ Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they have the hope of life eternal in a new heaven and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness, and joy unspeakable.

May they hear the word of life, and may faith take root and grow, and bear fruit in a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name
Amen

Thank you so much for this. I appreciate it so much. I am considering saying something to the Volunteer herself or giving the women through them to help in bringing her to Jesus, in case she is not a Christian. But as I am a Deputy Manager to the Volunteer, I am unsure whether this could come across as overstepping boundaries professionally, communicating my beliefs. in this way.. But then her salvation is more important than this

Hello @janer,

I pray that God will give you the love and grace you need for your interaction with the Volunteer, and the wisdom to know if and when to speak. Simply testifying to your own faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and the freedom from the fear of death that is yours as a result of placing your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord over a coffee perhaps: sharing the assurance that the knowledge of all your sins having been forgiven has brought to you, and the joy of knowing that now your hope is not for this life only, but is in anticipation of the resurrection life to come.

We are so blessed to have this assurance, it takes away all fear, doesn't it?

In Christ Jesus
Chris
