Once upon a time I stood in the midst of a crowd of people staring forward at some guy in a suit talking about something that didn't make sense to me. The people I saw around me were flippant and arrogant, ignorant about the world that surrounded them. The sermon continued with more strange phrases and references to a book, then the man in the suit asked for anyone who wished for forgiveness to step forward.

I had come with my dad, his girlfriend Vicki, and her family. I nudged Vicki, basically to see if she would bow in front of her lord, knowing that she's living in sin. She nudged back and together we stepped forward.
"Okay," I thought, "I'll talk to the used car salesman with the microphone."

I walked nervously toward the stage among several others and into the bright colored lightshow that illuminated the humming choir in their silken robes, taking note of the TV cameras and the various bucket-holders with their smug faces.
Two men on the stage stood with their arms raised in front of what appeared to be stockholders in the church babbling to themselves incoherantly for a moment before their knees gave out and they were gently lowered to the floor where they continued to babble to themselves.

"Yeah," I said aloud as I rolled my eyes, "This ought to be entertaining."

So there I stood, arms raised in the air with two men standing at my back with their hands on my shoulders when the car salesman approached and asked, "Do you believe God exists?"
"Sure, someone had to create this chaos we find ourselves in," I replied.
"Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?" he asked, and I shrugged my shoulders as I replied with affirmation. Then he said, "Thank him, and continue to thank him."
His hand was placed to my chest and he began to babble just like the other two men had.
I did what I was told, I thanked Jesus and a tear began to stream from my eye seeming to come for no reason at all. I began to feel very relaxed and comfortable, even though my arms were still raised.

Beauty. Light shining as through clouds, sound vanished except for something I still cannot describe. I began to babble incoherantly quietly to myself until all was gone but the vision of the light reflecting off of clouds. I felt nothing but comfort. I heard nothing, but it was a soothing noise.

I finally opened my eyes to an empty church. The only people in the entire building were those I had arrived with and the pastor. My entire body felt the same as the pins and needles of a limb falling asleep, but it was the most relaxing and comfortable feeling I had ever experienced. Apparently I was lying there for about 30 minutes, and even the pastor said he had never seen anyone fall into the spirit for that long.

Jesus is, God always was. I now have renewed faith in God, and as of January 15th 2012 I have retaken the vow I had forgotten so long ago in that church so far away. Christ is the Lord thy God, and I thank him for every single thing I am. Though the way is difficult, I can find comfort in not only others who have faith in God, but also that Jesus is my friend, and he will walk with me to all corners of the earth.

It is so good to hear that you have recommitted your life to the Lord.

May you now grow in His grace, and delight in His wonderful love and live your life to His glory.

Praise the Lord!
