"That is Just the Way God Must Feel"
A 52 Week Devotional

WEEK 1
Scripture: Malachi 4:6
"And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."
One evening I sat with a steadfast, earnest desire to be with my children. Circumstance would not permit me to be with them and they were less than a mile away. I yearned for their kisses, hugs, laughter and even their tears. The truth is that they were being well cared for by my parents, yet I was torn apart by our seperation from one another. In an effort to ease this pain I turned to a friend in the Lord, saying this, "I am so grateful for the income from my job, but it is really taxing my worship and child visitation schedule." I went on to say, "By the way, the word 'Visitation' disgusts me deeply. I do not visit my children, I FATHER them."
After requesting my friend's agreement in prayer over all of this, I realized:
That is Just the Way God Must Feel!
As Charasmatic Christians we love to testify of our "Visitations" from the Lord.
Our spiritual, heavenly Father is not seeking to merely visit us, His passionate heart's desire is to father us at all times. To be there when we succeed, and when we fall short of the mark, no matter what.
Our desire as Christians must be for the Father at ALL times. Let's turn our hearts to Him this week. Not seeking another visitation from Him, but seeking His constant companionship as our Perfect Father.
Prayer:
Father God, we thank you for the revelation of your heart to us. We thank you that you desire us so much that you wish to be with us at all times. Lord, as we go about our daily lives, remind us of your presence. Bless us with your guidance through your written word and your sweet voice, whispering, "I Love You", into our spirits. We thank you for these things in Jesus's Holy name.
AMEN
