THE ANGELIC ENCOUNTER
I normally pray very early in the day usually straight from the bed to my knees. But today I got out of bed went straight to kitchen and began to bake bread. I started a big pot of coffee, I put a cutting board on the counter along with onion squash, peppers tomatoes and potatoes. I cleaned them and cut them up and put them into a large bowl with a splash of olive oil garlic and basil to season. The oven at 400 I poured the vegetables in a large lasagna dish and put them in the oven with the timer set for an hour.
I went to my bedroom and got on my knees praising my God. It is amazing when I look back prayer praise and worship were a laborious task. Now I just can’t seem to start my day without our time. I no longer see it as a task but an opportunity to honor and glorify the only One that is worthy. This is why we were created what a great commission He put before us to serve Him. When our time ended I took a shower the timer sounded as I was getting dressed. I boiled 11 eggs and scrambled 4 put the coffee in the thermos cut up bread, plates cups and utensils. Loaded it all in the car, I pulled on street at 5 in the morning no plan I was just going. I went downtown there was no one, Lord we are here I prepared the food for You where do I go what do I do?
I came off a side street with no street lights I could see a man walking in the night his clothes were simple his stature was lean. I put down the window I called him brother I told him the story of how God brought me here. Now here is the man I thought to be homeless listened to my story and started to profess the glory of the Lord. His words were strong but gentle in spirit as he told me his needs were met that God has and will continue to meet all His needs. He lifted his eyes and his hands toward heaven speaking in the Spirit looked back to me and began to interpret God sent you to feed some one but I am not him. He assured me I would find him. I remember thinking as I drove away who would have thought I would have had Church today on a dark side street with through my car window someone I did not know.
I continued to drive and something came to mind said by a homeless man at the revival. He said he sleeps under the gazebo at the park so I went there. The dawn started to show as it begins chasing away the darkness of the night. I walked to the gazebo on the backside was an opening I looked into the darkness and spoke its time breakfast is ready eggs coffee bread come and dine. I called in darkness again nothing moved it stayed the same I walked away nobody came. When I got back to the car a truck pulled up to a building 2 men got out carrying things in and out. I walked up and told them the story of how the Lord had brought me here. They thanked me but said they had eaten I walked back to car talking to the Lord I did not understand Why did You bring me here I heard You so clear….Did I just make this up?
I reached behind the backseat and brought out a tub of scrambled eggs and fork. Took off the top and started eating them. To people came across the parking lot passing 10 feet from the car. I opened the door and asked would you like to eat breakfast with me there faces lit up and they said yes. We took all the food to a picnic table I told them the story of how the Lord brought me here. As I blessed the food the Lord made it clear that it was He who brought us here. The Lord brings my attention to things I am to see the heart of man he teaches to me. The man sat in front of me as the day turned to light this man was thanking Jesus for every bite. The lady was different the Lord had given His best but her spirit would not rest it wanted money and began to lie. When we parted I gave them all that was left the man was thankful. The lady was more concerned for what she did not get.
Now back to the story of the Angel on the street a blessing from God that we should meet. I see now that he knew what was ahead and what I should do. What he said when I offered he said I am not him God met his needs he knew there was one God sent me to feed. I rode home completely awed by the events of the day and how His presents was so plainly seen.
