Acts 9
Saul breathing threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest (for the old sect supported his efforts), seeking a letter to carry with him to the synagogues of Damascus. If he found any, men or women, speaking in the name of Jesus, he would bring them in chains to Jerusalem.
While he journey, a bright shining light from heaven fell around him; he fell to the earth, and heard a voice say, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
He said, What are you, Lord?
I am Jesus whom you persecute; it is hard for you to kick against the pricks.
Saul trembling said, Lord what will you have me do?
The Lord said, Arise, and go to Damascus, it will be told you what you must do.
Now, the men traveling with him heard a voice, but saw no man.
Saul rose up and his vision was made blind by the Lord. So his company led him by the hand to Damascus. For three days Saul was blind, and he did not eat or drink nothing.
Ananias, the Lord's disciple, was at Damascus; and the Lord spoke to him in a vision.
Ananias, Arise, and go into the street called Straight, and go to the house of Judas for Saul of Tarsus, for he prays. He has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.
Ananias said, Lord I heard of this man, and he has did the saints at Jerusalem much evil. And he comes here with authority of the chief priest to bind all that call on your name.
The Lord said, God your way: for he is a chosen vessel of mine, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel. I will show him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
So Ananias went and entered the house and putting his hands on him said,
Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus that appeared to you while coming here, has sent me, that you might receive your sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
And immediately scales fell from his eyes, and he rose up, and was baptized.
He spent time with the disciples at Damascus, and preached Christ in the synagogues, that Christ was the Son of God.
Have you went through anything for the Lord?
Have your received your sight? We are all blind until Christ lifts the dark veil, not only visions, but the Word as well.
Wonder what the men were thinking that traveled with Saul? hearing, but not seeing anything? And Saul fasting in his sorrow?
And thank God for working through Ananias.
Saul's life changed that quick; in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye: his life was no longer his own, it belonged to the Lord.
He preached Jesus, the Son of God straight away; the very one that he was killing others for speaking His name.
Saul knew the law, but refused the new covenant; but preached Jesus straight out of the gate.
Jesus didn't have a prewritten script either; He heard the Words God spoke to Him.
God will give ye what yet ought to say.
Have you been touched by the hand of God?
When you have been, you have a testimony to tell.
We can only testify to what we have seen, heard and felt.
Now why are the churches sitting like dead men in a coffin?
They all claim to have the Holy Ghost; but no power, no authority, no boldness, no fire, and speaking lifeless words.
It is difficult to do anything when one refuses to follow the Leader; the Christ of God.
God first, always.
All praise glory and honor be unto God. Amen
