The so-called rapture terminates the church age with an impossible-to-ignore wake
up call. Assuming it's true; I've no doubt the world over will be awestruck and very
badly shaken by the number of dead folks coming back to life seemingly out of thin
air. We're talking about nigh unto 2,000 years of Christians from every era since
the days of Christ. That's a significant number.

1Thess 4:16a . . For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud
command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God

The only archangel named in the New Testament is Michael (Jude 9) However,
according to Daniel 10:13 there's more than one archangel so I think it would be a
mistake to insist the archangel's voice in 1Thess 4:16 is Michael's.

The trumpet call of God is possibly relative to Rev 1:10-18. (cf. 1Cor 15:52)

1Thess 4:16b . . and the dead in Christ shall rise first.

* That incident is sometimes omitted from dramatized versions of the event.

"in Christ" is limited to folks who've undergone the Spirit's supernatural initiation
rite per 1Cor 12:13 and Eph 1:13.

1Thess 4:17 . . .Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air,

That scene would be easier to picture were the Earth flat, but it's a huge sphere. So
when those folks are taken up into the sky, I suspect they will form a sort of human
Oort Cloud all 'round the world at first.

Their exact rendezvous location with the Lord is a bit of a mystery. It's been
suggested they'll actually pass up thru the clouds and their assembly with the Lord
"in the air" will take place above them.

FAQ: What if there are no clouds in some areas?

REPLY: I think we can expect adequate high altitude weather conditions for that
one special day; it is after all a miraculous event.

* Folks left behind will very likely find themselves in immediate danger as wide
spread chaos, confusion, fear, and calamity are happy hunting grounds for
insurrection, looters, vandalism, hoarders, financial panic, and violent riots.

Subject Heading:- 'The Big Extraction'
Your subject heading caused me to consider making that appointment at the dentist that I have been putting off for so long . :)

* You paint quite a picture here, @Beetow.

* In regard to the word, 'Archangel': Jude uses it of Michael specifically in Jude 9:-

'Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil
he disputed about the body of Moses,
durst not bring against him a railing accusation,
but said, The Lord rebuke thee.'

* Daniel 10:13 that you refer to, doesn't say there is more than one archangel:-

'But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days:
but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me;
and I remained there with the kings of Persia.'
(Dan 10:13)
* Michael is a special angelic ruler for Israel (Daniel 10:21 & 12:1, Jude 9 & Rev. 12:7)
* That our Lord will come with clouds is what is prophesied, isn't it? In (Rev 1:7) :-

Behold, He cometh with clouds;
and every eye shall see Him,
and they also which pierced Him:
and all kindreds of the earth
shall wail because of Him.
Even so, Amen.'

* The trumpet call in 1 Thessalonians 4:16:-

'For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:'

* The trump of God is related to Matthew 24:31 and 1 Cor. 15:52: it connects this also to Daniel 12:1.

'Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened,
.. and the moon shall not give her light,
.... and the stars shall fall from heaven,
...... and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
.. and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
.... and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
...... And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
........ and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.'
(Mat 24:29-31)

' In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality,
then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?'
(1Cor 15:52-55)

* 'The sun will be darkened', and 'the moon shall not give her light', and the Son of man shall come 'in the clouds of heaven'.
Yet, Revelation 1:7 tells us that:- 'every eye shall see Him'.

* This is the coming of the Lord, spoken of in (1Cor. 15:23):-

'But every man in his own order:
Christ the firstfruits;
afterward they that are Christ's
at His coming.'

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;
and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:
for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.'
(Luke 21:25-28)

'But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me,
but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say,
Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?'
(Luke 23:2 )

I am so looking forward to that rendezvous as cancer, combined with chemo and
radiation, has emaciated me to the point where I resemble the half-dead Jews
liberated from Dachau and Auschwitz.

I expect the event will be very noisy as thousands of voices fill the air with a
deafening roar of laughter and cheers because those of us who lived our lives out to
old age, enduring time's wasting process, along with injuries and diseases, will of a
sudden find ourselves young and strong again.

'And He said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses
for Christ's sake:
for when I am weak, then am I strong.'
(2 Cor.12:9-10)

Hello @Beetow,

May you be very aware of the Lord's love for you: and may the consolation of His presence fill you with all joy in believing as you wait on Him. May you be enabled to draw on His strength, and find that His strength is indeed made perfect in your weakness: that His name be glorified, not only by you, but in and through you, for His name and glory's sake.

May you rejoice in the knowledge that you do indeed have a wonderful hope. How good it is to know that our life expectancy is not for this life only, isn't it? That we have an enduring, eternal hope awaiting us in resurrection life.

May God's perfect will be done in you and yours, both now and always. :)

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
Our risen and glorified,
Lord and Head.
Chris

Those words went God-ward.

Thank you. "May he" in prayer is a lot better than "may you" in well-wishing.
Sympathy I can get anywhere; whereas prayer is a mite scarce.

Actually, I don't mind the cancer and its related treatments near as much as I
dislike what it's doing to my morale. This disease requires a level of courage
and calm that I didn't expect. For the first time in my 79 years, I'm experiencing
despondence; and quite frankly I'm not a little worried I might undergo a nervous
breakdown because of it.

As I get older to me it seems that in my flesh, meaning my earthly existence it does not seem real, that GOD is real, and all of His eternal promise will come to be, because those TRUTHS, are so far beyond me and my mortal mind. Please do not mis- understand this, I am referring to me and how I am feeling that is in my flesh. and I cry. because it seems I am so alone in The Magnificent of "The MYSTERION" that He has revealed to us. and the water run down my eyes and nobody around understand why, and neither I. The love I feel.

But in me That "GODLY SPIRIT" that GROWS more and more each day as if His DAY is Near even at the DOOR, I, that SPIRIT lets me know that something is real that is Beyond me. and sometimes the tears just roll, they roll down my face when no ones is around, It has to be real. There is a great gulf, between us and them. I can feel the great Gulf between my SPIRIT and My Body of This soul and flesh, that I cannot explain So great it is, a part that "believes" and The other part seems as if it is dead and not alive.

as I write these words, I cannot stop crying, many times I have had to hide down through the years, for no one can know why I am crying for they do not know what is running and going on in my soul. But only if they could feel what I feel. most of the time, The Richness of Joy I cannot take it how he coats my soul.

Romans 7 KJV
23But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

So I do kinda understand. When this corruption will put on that which is Incorruptible this mortal will put on Immortality . For if you do not mind, may our Hope travel hand in hand together as we wait for The Hope of This land.

JESUS Come and come quickly for we wait on you.
