For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper [And] from the destructive pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you will take refuge; His truth is a large shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of terror by night, Or arrow that flies by day; Psalm 91:3-5 CSB

The psalms are a collection of real life, real struggle, and real praise. David wrote more of the psalms than anyone, but many believe that Psalm 91, though it isn’t attributed to anyone specific, was penned by Moses.

Moses spent decades in the wilderness on his own and decades more with the Hebrew people, who never seemed to be satisfied. He was the deliverer of Israel, but even he needed a deliverer from a laundry list of personal struggles. He had to contend with the people he led, the people in the lands they passed through, and the poor decisions of both.

If Moses hadn’t been strengthened and encouraged every day of this journey, it would have been easy for him to give up.

Despair might be a choice you’ve considered, but the same faithful God of Moses rescues from destruction, offers rescue, demonstrates faithfulness, and deals with the terror you experience. So, is it time for life redirection?

Prayer: Lord, I want to learn to trust You more every day. Encourage me when I’m down and let my life praise You in more than just good times.
