The father of lies
I was meditating on the end times and how prophetic things are starting to manifest Indicating the signs of the end times,
2 Tim: 3 But mark this: There will; be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God--- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. Here we have scripture telling us how people will be in the last days, (look familiar?), however, how did the people end up this way? Not so long ago, when I was a child, I was born in 1942, people were basically honest. Family’s were, in the most part, strong, politicians, if they were found wanting, would do the honourable thing and stand down. In those days honour was valued, children honoured their parents and many parents honoured God, and if a criminal was caught breaking the law, he’d admit it was a fair cop, and there was, in the main, honour between the police and the criminal.
The people ended up this way because we have an enemy, which has, since his meeting with Adam and Eve in the garden, been planning the downfall of mankind. The reason for this is, he has a hatred for mankind because we are made in the image, of the God he would love to replace. Satan has a problem though; he cannot accept the truth, for his nature is to lie. So when scripture informs him he will be overcome by Jesus, he can’t believe it because his nature won’t allow it.
John 8/42: Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came from God and am now here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
How Satan, in these end times, has gone about his deception is ingenious. First he encaptures our children through, over the years, creating a youth culture that has culminated today, with inventions, like for instance, computers with addictive games. Also rock music and fashion e.g. piercings, anti social hairstyles and clothing etc.., using these, he alienates our children from their parents, (the age gap). It’s interesting to note that most of the computer games encourage extreme violence immersing the players in an imaginary realm of bomb damaged infrastructure with adversaries of a brutal kind often tattooed with satanic symbols, and introducing language with the vilest expletives into this youth culture. These games are designed to entice the players into interacting and killing these adversaries, thus instilling a feeling of power, is it any wonder our children are killing one another. Compared with this environment, the political interests of parents, and the obvious dishonesty surrounding the whole subject of politics, are not lost on the young, and they want nothing to do with it. The values of parents are now so far removed from modern day understandings that the children see the morality and truth of their parents as old hat. They, of course, have no understanding of Satan and his wiles. This is because Satan has turned most of society against the church, and the moral teachings of times gone by, and replaced them with political correctness, where people have a right to change their gender, abort their children, and engages in any diverse morality their hearts desire. The depths that he has plumbed are amazing. As well as the church, he has polluted the seats of learning where professors who speak the truth are side-lined and in many cases lose their careers to the god of political correctness. Many sell out; for fear of losing their professions, to the detriment of the young who are now set on a path of misinformation leading to who knows where. Then, we have the honourable, who sit in the seats of power and are meant to be the servants of the people. It’s almost as though Satan hand picked them himself, although we know that God put them in power to bring about the prophesies that are now taking place. There is very little truth or honour among these people. I am, of course, referring to the politicians in the UK, although I am sure Satan hasn’t left the politicians of the world uncontaminated. It appears that these people can go back on their word, lie and cheat with impunity and point the world to a destructive end.
This of course would worry me, if it wasn’t all prophesied in scripture. The fact that it is, and that prophesy was written in times when this could not have been envisaged, causes believers to shout in praise, as the culmination of their hope is realised. There is nothing, other than the return of our Lord Jesus that can restore mankind, the damage that has been done is too deeply rooted.
