In Deuteronomy 21:15-17 the Lord said that if a man has 2 wives, one beloved, and one hated, and they have both born him children; and the firstborn son is born of the hated wife. Then it shall be when he makes his sons to inherit the things that he has, that he may not make the beloved son firstborn before the son of the hated wife, which is indeed the firstborn.

The Lord said they shall acknowledge the son of the hated wife for the firstborn, by giving him a "double portion" of all that he has: for he is the beginning of his strength; and the right of the firstborn is his.

We know by scripture that the nation of Israel was a sign of the "firstborn son" Nation as God said in Exodus 4:22. And you can see a similitude of the hated wife and the beloved wife also represented in the first wife of Jacob, which was Leah, and the second wife Rachel being the beloved.

Even though Jacob desired Rachel for a first wife he was tricked by Laban, and made to take Leah first according to the custom. Jacob would serve 7 years for the first wife Leah, and 7 years more for the second wife Rachel, and 6 years for the beasts; which I believe all were given as a sign of things to come. This sign of the "double portion" given to the firstborn is shown many times in scripture, as I also believe it speaks of spiritual things. Let’s compare some spiritual things with spiritual so we might better understand the meaning of "the sign" given in the "double portion".

In Exodus 16:5 the Lord told the children of Israel that on the 6th day they were to gather in a "double portion" of the heavenly Manna. In verse 8 they were told they would have bread to the full in the morning, but in the evening they were to be given the flesh, or meat to eat.

In Deuteronomy 15:18 we see in the law how he who was "born a Hebrew", and he who served as a Hebrew "servant" for 6 years, would go out free after 6 years; and he would be worth like a "double" hired servant unto thee. This is the sign of the 6th being "doubled" and is also shown in the design of the curtains made for the Tabernacle in Exodus 26:9. We see there are 5 curtains coupled together with 6 other curtains, making a total of 11 curtains. But notice the 6th curtain is to be "doubled" in the fore front, (by the entry way) of the Tabernacle; and then the “remnant” that remains would be folded over on the backside.

I believe this mystery of the 6th part that is to be doubled signifies that which is to come from the firstborn Israel’s portion; like the 7th loaf in the second feeding will come from the 6th loaf that was missing from the first feeding. These loaves are shown in the shew bread on the pure table in the design of the Tabernacle. There was 6 loaves in one row, and 6 loaves in another row= 12 total loaves like the 12 sons or tribes of Israel. (firstborn son Nation)

But in the feeding of the first multitude by Jesus there were only "5 barley loaves" broken to feed the 5,000. So why did Jesus only use 5 loaves in the first feeding instead of 6? This to me shows how the 6th part (6th loaf) of the first half of Israel would be cut off; but I believe it will be grafted back in later at the end.

You can see this sign in the second feeding of the multitudes, signifying the second ingathering of Israel; which would be fed with a total of 7 loaves to feed the 4,000. (like 5 loaves + 7 loaves=12)

So in this we see how the 6th loaf from the first row is cut off in the first ingathering, and would be added back in later in the end becoming the 7th.

This sign of the last portion being given "double" was also shown in Joseph who would receive "a double portion" of the inheritance because the firstborn Reuben had defiled his father’s bed. 1 Chronicles 5:1

This "double portion" in Joseph is also shown in the tribes of Israel in Revelation 7:6 in Manasseh (Josephs firstborn son) which is shown in 6th position; and then in verse 8 we see Joseph shown in the 11th position (like the curtains of the tabernacle signified).

I believe there is a connection between the 12 loaves, and 12 twelve stones having the names of the children of Israel on them as well; Even perhaps in the 11th stone shown in Revelation 21:20 being the jacinth stone. This jacinth stone is known as a scarlet colored stone, but may also be shown in blue, and purple as well; which are the 3 colors shown in the design of the Tabernacle. (1st blue, 2nd purple, 3rd scarlet)

I believe this sign was also shown in Jesus when they placed both a purple robe and then scarlet robe upon Him before he was crucified. And this is where the mystery gets even deeper. Jacob in order to receive the greater blessing and inheritance of the firstborn Esau who came out red, also put on "the appearance of Esau" to receive the greater blessing due the firstborn Esau. This also signifies the sign of the hated son in Esau, and the sign of the beloved in Jacob. (Romans 9:13) I believe this sign shows how in the end Israel is to receive "the greater blessing", and "a double portion" in Joseph.

But again we see "the sign" of a "double portion" being given as shown in the latter in Elisha, who at "the parting of the way" would receive "a double portion" of the Spirit that was upon Elijah in 2 Kings 2:9

Another sign of the double portion was shown in Job, who after suffering great affliction, shame, and captivity at the hands of Satan he would receive "a double portion". Job 42:10 “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job "twice as much" as he had before.”

And finally another sign of being given double awaits those who are Gods Israel who were once held captive by the ways of the world and by the spirit of this world; also being given over to confusion and shamed in their sins and trespasses. But yet in the end receiving a "double portion" of God’s blessing being the firstborn son Nation of Israel, and thus receiving the greater inheritance being also the sons of the Living God.

Isaiah 61:6-7 “But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess "the double": everlasting joy shall be unto them.”

The nation of Israel is the sign of the "firstborn son", who will receive a "double portion" of the inheritance. They were the first to labor in the Lord; and they will also be the last to labor; only if it be but for one final hour.
I believe in them is fulfilled the saying of Jesus, "the last shall be first, and the first last."

Peace and God bless

Something about you ain't right. You all messed up, Mixed up, what ever, you got a problem. Did you fall down somewhere and hit your head? if not, you need to stop telling everybody what the "Old Testament"is implying. and go back to the new testament and repeat The stories that are spoken in there, verses by verse and Word for Word to remind people what is written there.

Because you ain't right. something is wrong.
