Now thanks [be] to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:14-15
As Paul traveled from place to place, the Gospel was having its way with people. Of course, he faced hardship in his missionary journeys. (He wrote about these in depth in 2 Corinthians 11:16-33.) But the Gospel still prevailed, bringing in the fragrance of Christ, much like her perfume follows a woman wherever she goes.
How would you describe your own travels? Does the fragrance of Christ follow you into worship? Into local cafes? Into work? Surely it does if you belong to and trust in Christ.
The Christian's true joy comes as he finds fulfillment in Jesus and then seeks to share Him with others. How can you be more intentional in doing so? By sending cards of prayerful encouragement to those who need it? By making time to talk to the lonely person across the street about Jesus? Something else?
Prayer: Lord, too often I suspect that people can't get a whiff of Christ as I interact with them because I'm caught up in my personal issues. Help me to expand my reach for Your name's sake.
