'The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ' (2 Corinthians 11:31; Ephesians 1:3; 1 Peter 1:3)

* Both Paul and Peter use the words above in prayer, and in doing so state very clearly that their God is none other than both the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Such wondrous truth, which encapsulates the kernel of just who our God is, and shuts out all that would deny the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and His relationship to God the Father.

* In this day and age, when we are being encouraged to put all faiths on an equality with our Own: we need so much to remember these words, and keep them in the forefront of our minds, for many of the faiths which exist, will acknowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ was a great prophet, but they will not acknowledge that He is the Son of God.

'For though there be that are called gods,
whether in heaven or in earth,
(as there be gods many, and lords many,)
But to us there is but one God, The Father,
of Whom are all things,
and we in Him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ,
by Whom are all things,
and we by Him.'

Praise His Holy Name!

Hello again,

During the coronation of King Charles 111, I listened carefully to what was being said, and noted particularly what was being said about God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. For I had heard that the other faiths which exist in Britain would be represented and have a part in the coronation in some way. I don't want to comment on what was said, or how these other 'faiths' were included, for that can be seen by anyone who wishes to view the ceremony online.

What was in my mind as I watched, was the service that took place after the terrible events of 9/11 in America. The congregation consisted of Heads of state, and representatives of all faiths among the many mourners congregated there: and President George Bush spoke, quoting from Romans 8:-

'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine,
or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written,
For thy sake we are killed all the day long;
we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God, ... ... ... '
(Rom 8:35-39a)

* Such comforting words: and I waited for the final vital words to be read, but they did not come, for the President did not go on to declare the words, 'which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' Thereby denying the power thereof. For without Christ Jesus our risen Lord, there is no access to the comfort those words were intended to convey. For there is none other name, under Heaven, given among men, whereby we can be saved. He is the only True and Living Way to the Father.

John was the “Disciple whom Jesus loved”…..many theologians believe he was closer to Jesus than any other earthly man. He is the only Apostle (that we have biblical evidence of) who was given a prophetic glimpse of the end times, the millennium reign, and of Jesus coming into His glory. When looking at John’s gospel, we see that it differs quite significantly from the other 3 in that there is such a strong emphasis on love. We can almost see through John’s words how much he loves Jesus and how close their relationship must’ve been. I say all that to say that if anyone who lived with Jesus would’ve known His true nature (God in flesh)…..it would’ve been John.

“In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God; and the Word WAS God…….
…and the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1)

“He was in the world, and the world was made THROUGH Him, and the world did not know Him.” (John 1:10)

“I and the Father are one” (John 10:30)

“..he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” (John 14:9)

Almost 800 years earlier, the great prophet Isaiah prophesied about the coming of Jesus…..the Messiah. He was pretty clear about the “nature” of this child and about who He truly was/would be…..unless he was totally confused (and I don’t think he was).

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

There is ONE God. He is not 3 separate persons but He HAS revealed (manifested) Himself in 3 distinct ways: The Father in Creation, the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit in regeneration and in action today. All of God’s Word points to this….that Jesus Christ IS the one true God manifested in flesh. His is the ONLY name given among men by which we MUST be saved!
