The Great ***** of Revelations, Babylon the Great.

Here we see more old testament prophecy from the prophet Jeremiah and Isaiah, that lines up with the book of revelation, right down to Babylon whos sitting on many waters. And how Babylon is a golden cup in the lords hand, that makes the nations drunk. Babylon is fallen is fallen? we'll see this prophecy as well from the old testament, also where some of Gods people are told to come out of it, because of his judgment. We need to consider that modern day Iraq is were Babylon of old is, and it could be what the Mystery means, as well as it could be rebuilt in the future by coalition forces or simbolicly become great in the future to the people of Iraq, plus it is also a very oil rich place...this would also make it a very wealthy place in the future as well. Makeing it a possible place of power for the Antichrist, this place hates the Jews and Christians.. and would be a stronghold for such a man.


The future will tell all we need to know about Mystery Babylon, as these old testament, and the book of revelation prophecies unfold. Just remember how to interpret prophecy, its sometimes not word for word, and can be a dual prophecy at the same time. Example...the day of Pentecost prophecy of Joel. Also remember there is still some mystery here as well, or it wouldn't be called Mystery Babylon the Great, in the book of revelation.




First ill compare the Prophecies from the book of revelation.. and then the old testament prophets.



Revelation first


Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great ***** that sitteth upon many waters: Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
Rev 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.


Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.



Now the prophet Jeremiah


Jer 51:6 Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this [is] the time of the LORD'S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
Jer 51:7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
Jer 51:8 Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. Jer 51:9 We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up [even] to the skies.
Jer 51:10 The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.
Jer 51:11 Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device [is] against Babylon, to destroy it; because it [is] the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
Jer 51:12 Set up the standard upon the walls of Babylon, make the watch strong, set up the watchmen, prepare the ambushes: for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake against the inhabitants of Babylon.
Jer 51:13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, [and] the measure of thy covetousness.


As we can see the similarities in these prophecies above are undebateable, but like i said, it is still called a Mystery...but all will be understood in time. As ive said before, the best interpreter of scripture is scripture... not men.



More below...one from the prophet Isaiahs vision, where he says Babylon is fallen is fallen.

Isa 21:1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; [so] it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
Isa 21:2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
Isa 21:3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing [of it]; I was dismayed at the seeing [of it]. Isa 21:4 My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.
Isa 21:5 Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, [and] anoint the shield.
Isa 21:6 For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
Isa 21:7 And he saw a chariot [with] a couple of horsemen, a chariot of *****, [and] a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
Isa 21:8 And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
Isa 21:9 And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, [with] a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

The prophecy in the word basically says that there will be a "new Babylon" before the end. Babylon will fall, and then be restored. Iraq is Babylon. If you ask an Iraqi about the history of Iraq they will tell you about the great Babylonian empire, just like Americans will speak of the Pilgrims, and the people of Norway will tell you about Vikings. It is there history. So Iraq is Babylon, and Iraq has fallen, when Saddam was taken out of power, and a new government is now in place thanks to a democratic process. So, Babylon has fallen and is now restored.

Prophesy again has come true.

Iraq ships its oil all over the world, to every oil using country. And that is where the bible says that all the world will be made to drink from her.

It is simply the truth of the word happening today. Showing all the world that God is better at prophesy than Nostradamus, Edgar Casey, and everyone else. But he kinda has the inside track since he is in control and all.

Im saying we are probably looking at a revived Babylonian empire led by the Antichrist, or man of sin...he makes a pack with ten Kings then three fall or escape out of his hand, then he rules for seven years with their power then tree and a half years in, he commits the abomination of desolation to Israel and Gods wrath begins and torments his followers and judges them, then Christ returns to take his kingdom at the battle of Armageddon. Thats the short version of what i mean. Most or all of the world will worship this man... but some will escape. I see the seaport or Tyre, will also be under his power.

Isa 23:14 Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strength is laid waste.
Isa 23:15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
Isa 23:16 Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
Isa 23:17 And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth. Isa 23:18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.


Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.


Rev 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.


Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.




So according to old testament prophecy, and the book of revelation im pretty sure Babylon the Great will be an empire, led by the man of sin and seven kings, and their kingdoms are called harlots...

I must say this thread really taught me alot in a short time. Thank you so much Fellowservant and Nigh. I love talking about the second coming of Jesus and how it all will happen. That is the only real thing I am waiting for. I was so scared and afraid of the antichrist a few years back, because I did not know anything about him.
Let me just ask this question, the Bible talks about a false prophet and it talks about the antichrist, are they one person or 2 individuals?
Does the Bible say the beast is a person?.

Revelation 17:6-13

6And I saw the woman drunk with (U)the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. When I saw her, I wondered greatly.

7And the angel said to me, "Why do you wonder? I will tell you the (V)mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the (W)seven heads and the ten horns.

8"(X)The beast that you saw (Y)was, and is not, and is about to (Z)come up out of the (AA)abyss and (AB)go to destruction And (AC)those who dwell on the earth, (AD)whose name has not been written in the book of life (AE)from the foundation of the world, will (AF)wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come.

9"(AG)Here is the mind which has wisdom The (AH)seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits,

10and they are seven (AI)kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while.

11"The beast which (AJ)was and is not, is himself also an eighth and is one of the seven, and he (AK)goes to destruction.

12"The (AL)ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast (AM)for one hour.

Revelation 17:18

18"The woman whom you saw is (BE)the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth."


Okay so this is how I understand it from this scripture. The beast is earth and the woman is a city. The heads are mountains, which are Kings & the horns are Kings.

Is that a good analysis?

Praise the lord brother Nigh...Nostradamus cant hold a candle to this stuff, its like reading a true story, or watching a block buster movie up close, based on a true story. Soon the whole world will be watching, praise his name all will bow before him.

Yes brother 2 individuals, they will be men, a false prophet and a ruler (ie man of sin) will appear in the last days and decieve many, with lying signs and wonders.


Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

These men will be possesed by Satan...

Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

The dragon above is Satan...
