The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be short. The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the blameless, but destruction to evildoers. Proverbs 10:27-29 ESV
What you fear will surely influence the course of your life and your decisions, but the fear of the Lord, which brings about reverence and humility, can lead to a longer life that includes the joy of God’s hope.
The self-centered choices you make that reject God’s path will surely bring conflict and struggles beyond what you may intend. Indeed, the stress of such choices alone may be enough to cause health problems!
The hope and joy you have from devotion to the Lord will ensure a more peaceful life, and the peace you find with others will bring many benefits in life. With a strong community of God’s people around you and a life dedicated to peace and righteousness, you will enjoy a life that is a blessing to others and blessed by God.
