the King James Version (KJV) is the most accurate and faithful translation of the original Hebrew and Greek texts. The KJV is based on the Textus Receptus, which is the most reliable source for the New Testament, and the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament. Other translations may introduce errors or omit important passages, which can lead to confusion and misinterpretation. It is essential for Christians to study the Word of God in its purest form, as it was originally written, and to trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit in understanding its meaning.

Some just won't take the time to look up the meaning of the KJV words in the Hebrew/Greek to get that correct interpretation.

They say it's hard to understand so they settle for someone else's interpretation. Not always but often enough it's the wrong interpretation.

I believe it's worth the time to invest your efforts in the KJV, it will pay off in the end!

I have:
KJV Study Bible with maps and other info.
Chronological Study Bible
NLT Bible
Several pocket Bibles
Two larger but not full size military theme covered Bibles.
The NLT is easier to read but as you've stated and I'm sure some agree different versions can be part of good study and learning.

I have been into the KJV so long that when I go to another version I'm totally lost. I've been through the KJV many times referring to the Hebrew/Greek for those "key words" that give the interpretation. When I don't see those "key words" in the verse, my mind can't go back to the Hebrew/Greek meaning and immediately I see red flags.

This is just me though, I understand that there are some who don't have that time and feel more comfortable with a newer version. What makes the difference for me is that I'm not taking someone else's word for the interpretation, I have looked it up and seen for myself what it means.

You should also read:
"The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades".
It corrects a lot of wrong info and myths about them both but there is comparison from what Jesus said vs Mohammed .

Actually the NKJV is very good also. I started out in KJV aa it was the only version available. Then went to the old NIV study Bible. It was in paragraph format and much easier to understand. Then another pastor introduced the NKJV and I went to that.

The people back in the day of King James they spoke that way. The English language has developed since then. So we now have the Bible in updated English.
