[Matthew 21:33 KJV] 33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
The parables conveyed teachings about the Davidic earthly millennial kingdom. The theme of this parable is the delayed return of Jesus; the householder "went into a far country" illustrates this.
[Mat 21:34 KJV] 34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
Believing Israel was to bear fruit.......[Mat 3:10 KJV] 10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[Mat 21:35 KJV] 35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
Israel killed the prophets sent to them...........[Mat 23:31 KJV] 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
[Mat 21:37-39 KJV] 37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. 38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. 39 And they caught him, and cast [him] out of the vineyard, and slew [him].
It is evident Jesus was speaking of his death. Jesus was "cast out of the vineyard"; Hebrews speaks of Jesus suffering without the gate, and Israel was to go unto Jesus without the camp.............[Heb 13:11-13 KJV] 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
[Mat 21:40-41 KJV] 40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? 41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out [his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
Jesus was saying that the vineyard would be let out to those who shall render fruits.
[Mat 21:42-43 KJV] 42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
Jesus said clearly that the kingdom of God, the millennial kingdom, would be taken from unbelieving Israel, and given to a nation bearing fruit; the nation that will receive the kingdom is the believing remnant of Israel, the believing nation. The remnant believed Jesus is Christ, the Son of God; "the stone which the builders rejected".
