For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. 1 Corinthians 15:13-14 NLT
We Christians understand the importance of Jesus’ death on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. But His death wasn’t the end of the story.
Jesus’ death was the moment when God took it on Himself to provide the once-and-for-all sacrifice for our sin. But the above scripture passage clearly states that Jesus rising from the dead is absolutely essential to the Christian faith. In fact, the apostle Paul wrote, “[Jesus] was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification” (Romans 4:25).
Thank God every day that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for your sins. But also remember to thank Him for the empty tomb. Because Jesus lives, you will live with Him in heaven forever.
Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for sending Your Son to earth to live as a man and die on a wooden cross so that You could forgive my sins. Thank You also for raising Jesus from the dead so that I can live forever.
