My number One movie of all time!! I mean ALL TIME!! The movie did very poor at the box office,Stephen King wrote this,to me the greatest book he ever wrote.The movie starts out as our hero Andy Dufresne played by Tim Robbins, is accused of killing his wife,and the person she was with.
Red played by wonderful Morgan Freeman who is our host for the story. he tells us. The music is wonderful.What makes this movie number 1 to me? I must caution you of one thing,there is much bad language in it,also much violence as well in this prison. But every prison many are in right now,have much of the same thing to them.
This movie shows this. 1 cor 13:13 all are found in this story. To see what is eternal,in the face of horror,to believe, that no matter what your eyes are seeing,there is something one can have, if they just wait long enough for it.
Faith, when even the Warden, and the officers around him have none.When all of this goes to the inmates, except one! And when that one,can change all that he comes into contact with. This movie has helped so many,many who have broken relationships in there own life. Many who feel as if they have done everything they can,and are ready to give up.
Faith,Hope and yes LOVE!! The relationship between 2 men. Like Jesus which is where Andy goes to,and us, what red finds when he becomes free as well. Get busy living or get busy dieing. The theme of the movie.
The movie shows to get busy living!! For dieing does no good to that person,or to the others we sure could have helped. I hope you will rent this movie,I hope you will see what I did when I saw it for the first time in 1995. It will cause you to both laugh and cry,you will see despair,you will see hope,and you will see what happens when you never give up on love! Blessing all!
