In Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of "the war" desolations are determined.

Many believe "this war" to be a physical war fought in a certain geographic location off somewhere in the distant future, but "the spiritual war for souls" has been ongoing for a long time now. The "flood" prophesied is the flood of persecution and "lies" that came out of mouth of the serpent (Prince of this world) after Jesus Christ was caught to heaven, and the woman (spiritual Israel) fled into the wilderness as shown in Revelation 12:15 “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as "a flood" after the woman, that he might cause her to be "carried away "of the flood. In Hebrews 13:9 we are told not to be "carried away" with divers and strange doctrines.

This war on the saints would not only be fought with carnal weapons by men, by the sword, by flame and by captivity; but this war also includes "spiritual warfare" by the Devil. And it is also prophesied that many of the saints would be overcome and the beast would also prevail against them by this great flood of lies and false doctrine during this time period. And that is what the Lord meant by desolations were determined unto the end of this war; as the Red Dragon and the beast would "make war" with the saints, and also with the Lamb as is also written.

Prior to the Messiahs first coming it was all the "abominations" that the children of Israel had done that brought forth "the desolation" of the temple mount and Jerusalem in 70 AD. And it is much the same with the Gentile age and the world today as well. Many would be corrupted, and be "overcome", and lose their garments and "fall away" from the faith, thus making them "desolate" and naked. We are shown this in Daniel 9:27 “….and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon "the desolate.” (God’s wrath is poured)

Being made "desolate" means they would become unfruitful, or barren of good fruit. As Jesus said we could not bear fruit except we abide in Him (the vine) and in His words. And so many would be "overcome" by the spirit of this world, and by the cares of this world, and by the tribulations of this world and as a result would also "fall away" from the faith.

Just as this being made desolate by the ways of the world also comes by deception through false teachers as also happened to the children of Israel. Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a "desolate" wilderness.”

And this being made desolate is what we also see in the Harlot church system in Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the *****, and shall make her "desolate" and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

So those who would "fall away" by being in bed with the ways of the world would be made "desolate" and naked as shown here in Revelation 3:17 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

Nakedness in scripture symbolizes having your “sins exposed” like with Adam and Eve. This falling away and nakedness is also shown here in Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk "naked", and they see his shame.” The sign of the kings of the earth eating the harlots flesh and drinking her blood is the opposite reflection of the saints of God eating the flesh of the Lamb and drinking his blood.

But the harlot’s flesh and blood is fornication and idolatry through covetousness, and the immoral ways of the world “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”; which also brings forth the wrath of God being poured out on "the desolate".

Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This sign of the harlot being made "desolate, naked", burned and eaten was first shown in the false idol the children of Israel had made when Moses went up to the mount. Notice the steps involved after Moses went up to the mount, after the "likeness" of Jesus being caught up to heavenly mount and to God.

First the children of Israel would "corrupt themselves" by false idols Exodus 32:7 “And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have "corrupted" themselves:”

They would then be made "naked" for shame Exodus 32:25 “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies”

And then the false idol was burned and eaten, or drank Exodus 32:20 “And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.”

So the ashes of the false idol were mixed into the waters...

Revelation 17:15 “And he saith unto me, The "waters" which thou sawest, where the ***** sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (sea of iniquity= Red Sea)

Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her", my people, that ye be not partakers of "her sins", and that ye receive not of her plagues.”
Her wine (blood) of her fornication leads to God’s wrath. Revelation 14:8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of "her fornication".

Plagues (God’s Wrath) shall be poured out upon "the desolate".

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

So this war is not only physical, but spiritual warfare, that wars against the soul...

1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from "fleshly lusts", which "war" against the soul;

Romans 7:23 "But I see another law "in" my members, "warring" against the law of my mind, and bringing me into "captivity" to the law of "sin" which is "in" my members."

James 4:1 From whence come "wars and fightings" among you? come they not hence, even of your "lusts" that "war" in your members?

So be not carried away by the flood of lies and false doctrines of men, which will lead the desolate into captivity and into the hard bondage of sin.

Be good and be blessed

If you want to win this spiritual war, you have to put on the full battle armour of God.

Ephesians 6:10-17

King James Version

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Did you drop this? This is part of the armour too, yes?

Have we ever considered our defeat in The Spiritual War is Our Victory.

Sound like maybe a good “Thread” could come out of this.

“Victory by Defeat”

What do you think; “Complete”?

It’s not mentioned as “like” a piece of the body armour, but it can’t hurt right. :)

Ephesians 6:13
Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.

After you have done all you can do to stand,:pensive:

[Stand Anyhow]. In your distress and pain. Even if you have to bear another’s burden.
[Stand Anyhow].

Going back to the Threads Title, then Reading The Introduction post #1.

It kinda dumb founded me. “Daniel 9: 26. Issued in as a Catalyst for The Body of this Thread.

Maybe, It was the translation I thought.

So I went and Read the Whole Chapter in Text. Daniel 9 in Biblical Context in (ASV).

Oh’ what a Great Big Surprise! A portion of A text taken out of context that made plain sense. To convey something way out of plain and common sense pertaining to “Biblical Sense”

Judge for yourself, concerning “Biblical Hermeneutics”.

Daniel chapter 9. Following, post #9

1In the first year of Darius the sonof Ahasuerus, of Median descent, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans— 2in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, observed in the books the numberof the years which was revealed as the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years.3So I gave my [a]attention to the Lord God, to seek Him by prayerand pleading, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. 4I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed, and said, “Oh, Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and faithfulness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, 5we have sinned, we have done wrong, and https://biblehub.com/nasb_/daniel/9.htm#fnactedwickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.6Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, whospoke in Your name to our kings, our leaders, our fathers, and all the people of the land.

7“Righteousness belongs to You, Lord, but to us [c]open shame, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, those who are nearbyand those who are far away in allthe countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You. 8[d]Openshame belongs to us, LORD, to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinnedagainst You. 9To the Lord our Godbelong compassion and forgiveness, [e]because we have rebelled against Him; 10and we have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His [f]teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.11Indeed, all Israel has violatedYour Law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the cursehas gushed forth on us, along with the oath which is written in the Lawof Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him. 12So He has confirmed His words which He had spokenagainst us and against our [g]rulerswho ruled us, to bring on us greatdisaster; for under the entireheaven there has not been doneanything like what was done in Jerusalem. 13Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disasterhas come on us; yet we have not [h]sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our wrongdoing and https://biblehub.com/nasb_/daniel/9.htm#fngiving attentionto Your truth. 14So the LORD has [j]kept the disaster in store and brought it on us; for the LORD our God is righteous with respect to allHis deeds which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.

15“And now, Lord, our God, Youwho brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty handand made a name for Yourself, as it is this day—we have sinned, we have been wicked. 16Lord, in accordance with all Your [k]righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn awayfrom Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; for because of our sins and the wrongdoings of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become an object oftaunting to all those around us.17So now, our God, listen to the prayer of Your servant and to his pleas, and for [l]Your sake, Lord, let Your face shine on Your desolatesanctuary. 18My God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the citywhich is called by Your name; for we are not [m]presenting our pleasbefore You based on [n]any meritsof our own, but based on Your great compassion. 19Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and takeaction! For Your own sake, my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

Gabriel Brings an Answer

20While I was still speaking and praying, and confessing my sinand the sin of my people Israel, and [o]presenting my plea beforethe LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, 21while I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision [p]previously, [q]came to me [r]in my extreme wearinessabout the time of the eveningoffering. 22And he instructed meand talked with me and said, “Daniel, I have come now to giveyou insight with understanding.23At the beginning of your pleasthe https://biblehub.com/nasb_/daniel/9.htm#fncommand was issued, and I have come to tell you, becauseyou are [t]highly esteemed; so payattention to the message and gainunderstanding of the vision.

Seventy Weeks and the Messiah

24“Seventy https://biblehub.com/nasb_/daniel/9.htm#fnweeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to [v]finish the wrongdoing, to [w]make an end ofsin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and [x]prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.25So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a [y]decree to restore and rebuildJerusalem, until [z]Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeksand sixty-two weeks; it will be builtagain, with [aa]streets and moat, even in times of distress. 26Then after the sixty-two weeks, the [ab]Messiah will be cut off and have[ac]nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroythe city and the sanctuary. And [ad]its end will come with a flood; even to the end [ae]there will be war; desolations are determined.27And he will confirm a covenantwith the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will puta stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of [af]abominations will come the one who [ag]makes desolate, until a complete destruction, one that is [ah]decreed, gushes forth on the one who [ai]makes desolate.”

I am a Reader, and Not A “Interpretation” of something that was not said but meant something else.

Daniel Chapter 9 makes plenty of Sense to me. When a lot of Biblical History is available within the Bible. Things that has come to pass and. Recorded plainly in the Book, especially when a person have read the Book on more Occasions, beginning with “Genesis going straight through to Revelations at least three to 4 times within a year. You can see it. And all The Prophets are Contemporaries, while some are Prophesying in The North Kingdoms and others are Prophesying in The South and relating to each other’s kingdom at certain points.

It can get Confessing at some times but after repeated “Reads” you finally get a picture. Of the 2 Kingdoms and both Kingdoms are messed Up! And have Sometimes Different Foes! Whom GOD uses as “WashPOTS”!
